Simple fact is, when I go to town to repair my gear, I expect it to be simple and quick so I can get back to PLAYING the game. I dont want to go afk and hope someone comes by and repairs my stuff. I dont want to spend a ridiculous amount of gil to a npc to only repair it to 75%.

I'm not trolling. The way repairs are setup right now is a legitimate problem with the game, but yet stupid blind fanboys like you continue to defend such a broken setup. Why is beyond me, I guess you enjoy your games being broken. I for one would like to see this game improve instead of rolling over and just accepting broken as is.
I agree with you and never have understood the fanboy/white knight mentality. This is a serious problem with the game, like a lot of other things. To stand by this stuff is nonsensical. SE is going to fix this, I know they will because it is a majority problem and complaint. The fanboys are going to have a tough time when this game is good enough for PS3 release and it is completely different and made for the majority.

I wouldn't know. All I know is that every single time I have something to repair I place it in my bazaar, normally for 5k, or 7k if it's my sword, in any decently crowded area of any city. The area of the repair NPC normally works. If I have a bunch of items it's extremely rare that i make it in time to put them all up that the first ones are already repaired. If I have just one or a couple, then I go grab a coffee and when I'm back they're done.

So either I'm extremely lucky, and I have been costantly for months (statistically impossible),or I'm irresistibly charming, or you're doing something wrong.

Item damage and repairs are a staple of most major MMORPGs, hardly something unique in FFXIV.
I defend it because it's a great way to encourage collaboration between crafters and adventurers, because it's now nicely streamlined and works without hassle for all parties involved (the only way to streamline it more would change the generic icon with class specific icons), it's a viable money sink (and boy, this game needs more, not less money sinks), and it doesn't bother me one bit.

They already have. Item degradation now is very slow, unless you're wearing stuff way above your level (and then maybe you shouldn't?), and the repair-specific bazaar icon removed every hassle in finding viable repairers to anyone that actually tries it.

PS: don't assume you can speak for the majority just because a bunch of people in a forum whine. Forums are hardly any representation of any majority.

Sorry to burst a bubble, but no matter how much you scream, disagreeing with you doesn't necessarily mean being a "fanboy".

Heck no. We voted on something like this and if we vote again, it'll still be heck no.

Crafters create damn near every item in the game...I'd say thats more then enough collaboration between players. It wouldnt hurt to make repairing gear less annoying. Its a mundane step that prevents me from playing the game. Simply put, I should be able to go to the NPC, click "repair all" and they should be all repaired to 100% for a reasonable fee, and I can be on my way to playing it again.

The way the system is now, players are at the mercy of the crafters, unless they want to shell out a ridiculous amount of gil for 75% repair. I think its like 80k or so to repair my weapon right now. Thats retarded.

Yet again, I'm in complete shock that people would defend such things.

Oh noes, been called out on the forums.

No need to apologize about bursting my bubble because you didn't. I don't remember screaming about anything, either. Also, I don't remember saying just because people disagree with me they are fanboys. So, lol?

And I'm in complete shock that people would make such a big deal over such small things.

By the way, the more content-related equipment is introduced (armor sets, quests rewards and so forth), the less crafter-made items will be needed. So yeah, ways to encourage collaboration are still in order and will become more and more so as the game progresses and new content is implemented.

    - /sh (Can I have it?) (Repair) <insertDoH> Rank<insert min rank>++ (optional: (Reward):<insert gil>)
    - go synth/chatting with LS/take a coffee break
    - system message: your <item name> condition has improved by xx%

Items should break if people let it drop to 0 durability, perhaps with some random chance of a piece remaining. Items don't really leave the economy at the moment...

I like that idea of things breaking at zero durability. It might help do away with the sheer amount of equipment that's brought into the game by the sea of crafters and in turn will make them more valuable and do a little something for the economy. On the other hand, grinding out in Coerthas, having no means to repair your equipment then losing it due to durability would suck quite a lot.

The attribute system is the only one I'd really miss if it were removed. Judging by the latest poll SE gave us, we may lose it to a system where attributes are already set for us and are dependant on the current class (correct me if I'm wrong). It might make classes unique to each other but those within the same class will essentially be the same barring skills acquired from other classes.

I like being able to create my own build and I suspect I'm not alone. I'm able to change my build depending on the circumstances. In some cases as a DoM I may need to take a supporting role so Vit and Mnd will be the primary attributes. In another situation I may need to change to an offensive role and will change attributes accordingly. There may have also been talk about making each class more unique but even after that each class can still be customised further with attribute points and I don't want to see that lost.

Speaking of class uniqueness, for the love of god can DoM please be adjusted so they're actually useful for something other than supporting? There is no such thing as a magic damage dealer. I mean, sure you could be one, but you're vastly overshadowed by the damage most DoW classes can produce. Given all DoM spells use MP and require casting time, compared to DoW they are severely underpowered. Not to mention the uselessness of Int.

I hope they keep surplus. I think they just don't want us leveling up so quickly as to rush through the game. :c I agree fatigue can be annoying but I enjoy stopping to smell the flowers and do something different from time to time, the fatigue reminds me to do this. ・w・
