dose anyone miss the old way of lvling up insted of fates (plz read)

really dose anyone miss how you could get a group of friends together and go out in a party to lvl up. i mean yea people have gotten used to the fates and grinding dungeons. yea you may be able to get some friends and go out and kill but you dont have the level sync option. i personally enjoyed 1.0 yea 2.0 has some upgrades that are good but i dont like that how the only way people lvl anymore are fates and dungeons. yea you can do side quests but they only get you so far. about the only problem i had with 1.0 was the seamless zoning and the high graphics you had to be loaded just to afford a computer to run it. and just so every one knows its not just the party system that im wanting back its the soloing aspect that 11 had that 14 dosent i miss the solo grind i mean come on i understand that some people dont like it but there are also people that dont like fates and dungeons

Yup, and we won't get it back.

    Edit:

Well actually some of the new content is nice too, but having the option to level like we did in XI and 1.23 would be nice too.

Nope. Not in the slightest. I'm glad old-style FFXI 'dooms parties' are gone forever. Okay the social aspect was fun, but gameplay wise exp parties were an absolute drag, especially if there was competition with other parties for mobs.

And I'll never forget wasting an entire night (as in, spent over 9 hours waiting) in FFXI as a level 30ish WHM in Rabao waiting for a pt invite that never came circa 2005. That one incident is partially why I hate exp party grinding now, and am glad Yoshi-P gave it the boot in ARR.

I couldn't agree more with you, Ms./Mr. Roux. I understand why people like the system, but little things like this destroyed the enjoyment of the exp grind. (Exping at a camp, having fun, and someone starts soloing the party's mobs. Getting an invite, halfway there party disbands. As I said, little things.)

neaver said party grinding was easy there is a lill bit of a complication but obviusly there are ways to get around the dick heads eather move camp or just out pull what they are fighting which is what i prefered to do im not saying its easy im not trying to get easy stuff just trying to bring more of a social aspect back to it because as it is right now i really dont run into anyone new with dungeion que selecting from all servers that isent a good sorce and fate partys your runing around all the time not enough time to talk barly say hi when im in them and end game everyone is so bussy fighting i have maby made 3 friends in endgame and thats just cause we spamed the same thing multiple difrent times together and im allready in a FC granted its a small family/friend FC but really it was so much easyer to meet new people in 11 that is more of the aspect i want back. and partys hapans to be where i would meet people and i personly find the grinding and defending your spot a fun thing and if they made the mobs stronger and gave more exp would bring the solo aspect back i have a frined that prefers the solo aspect and there just isent one its gone and that used to be a fun thing also is just going out and soloing. o and some times if the party was in danger we would take a small break i would switch jobs and just kill faster then they could and screw there exp till they left i mean there are ways to be more of an asshole then other people you just gota be willing to do it

    No, I prefer running dungeons.

I'll still do FATEs while I'm in que, but I much prefer leveling via dungeons. It's helped me learn how to use my skills in combat situations. For instance, it's hard to learn how to position on DRG or MNK for each skill if you're soloing FATE mobs.

i dont see why they couldn't implement that aspect into the game. since they're providing a lot alternatives, having this shouldn't pose much of an issue i think. I also kinda miss mob grinding with buddies. its a real bonding experience lol despite its shortcomings

What exactly prevents you from making a party and just head to a zone with enemies that are 10+ levels higher than you and start murdering mobs?
