Tread lightly, this is a mechanic used in WoW, many people will look right through the idea, no matter how good it is, and only see WoW. Also burn a class to 50, then run around doing all the quests would make for easy gil, and they would say that it catered to RMTs, so the gil reward would be reduced to something that wasn't really worthwhile.

I know, it's a lose lose kind of situation. I just hate seeing useless exp rewards on quests post 50, etc.

So annoying, maybe not apply it to leve's but man the one time quests in game should get a conversion at level 50.

Something that always struck me as odd. You take money out of economy in an effort to fight RMT, but doesn't this incentivise and push players into using said RMT? If players had a good source of income wouldn't that hurt RMT more because players wouldn't feel the need to buy currency since they could make it at a decent pace. Those that would buy it at this point then would be the ones whom would have bought it anyway?

I guess people think there's amarket out there and fear inflation? I dunno, but this makes sense to me remove RMT by making Gil a bit easier to come by.

I think a bit of inflation would help the economies at this point rather than hurt it. Nearly nothing has much value anymore and the little value it has is because not many people spend the time to farm said items. The problem is the people who would use said items actually mostly farm it themselves anyway so thus the goods with value never sell. So because they never sell, they'll keep dropping in value till someone actually feels its justified to buy them.

Using Aldgoat leather as an example. The only use this item has is to crafters. Crafters won't buy it in bulk because it costs more for the leather than the finished products. So players tend to buy only what they need at the cheapest possible price to HQ the items they are working on. It causes the market system of Supply and Demand to break down since the supply will quickly beat out the demand; and the market will run down the price to nothing.

When 2.2 hits it'll stimulate the economy for about a second; then quickly everything will plummet in price as the general population can not AFFORD to buy the goods. Once the 20% wealthy buy what they need then there is no one to sell to anymore and the prices will get ground to dust.

It doesn't matter if it makes sense to us, it's up to them, high level fishing isn't good for anything because fishing has always been good for RMT business, they removed the gil drop from the beetles in Wanderer's Palace because it was easy to farm, and thus attracted RMTs, their strategy for dealing with RMTs is make it harder for them to get their gil, then make gil only good for vanity in game. Crafted gear is useful up to a point, but in the end, dungeon/primal gear will always outpace it, gil is used for housing, the vanity slot system will be somewhat of a gil sink, pretty much anything that doesn't involve advancing content wise in the game you will find gil useful for, limiting the market RMTs have .
