How is this server?

I have been on Goblin since beta and I really enjoy the community overall. I am in both a FC and a few link shells, and find that regardless of the tag over your head people will give you a hand if you shout for help. There are a decent amount of houses owned now as well. Really though, any server is what you make of it. If you search hard enough you can find the good, the bad and the just plain ooogly anywhere =p

i came to this server to help out a friend in forming an FC and i´ve been here 3 months and it´s been nice i´m not yet lvl 50 couse i like taking my time and dislike grinding to fast throug lvls also i´m totally self sufficient atm lvling up my needed gathering and crafting clases at the same time as my main fighting class(warrior/marauder) but so far people are nice and helpful allaround with some exceptions as allways but nothing noticeble on the bad side. i haven´t seen any other servers but don´t feel the need to go anywhere being pretty happy alround on this server

I've been here since launch. It's a bit quiet, but most times if I shout for help I'll get a response and I'll take quiet over trolls and such any day of the week.

I noticed OP already transferred... so this is for anyone else wondering about this server.

Edited to say: Disclaimer! This is all opinion and is based on what I've observed in-game. I could be completely wrong - please do not take offense.

I've been here since beta, and log in every day the game is up. At the moment, the server feels kind of dead. I see the most people on Monday, and maybe Tuesday, and then everyone seems to disappear. The weekends, when I'd expect more people to be on, seem even quieter than the weekdays.

The server will probably be bustling again once the new patch launches, but it will still be far from crowded. Progression-wise, Goblin is slow. Not that many people have beaten Turn 5, and it doesn't seem like very many people have finished the Ex Primals line either - relatively speaking.

If you are looking for a quieter server, and you are more laid-back in progressing, Goblin would probably be a good fit. If you are very serious about end-game progression, I would probably try a different server. However, if you are looking to move your hardcore, competitive FC to another server for a better chance at server firsts, Goblin would likely be a good choice. A bunch of the hardcore groups left early on, and your FC would only have a handful of serious competitors.

Not saying that goblin is a great progression server, but you vastly underestimate how many groups clear turn 5. In the first place not everyone does raids, but quite a few FCs that do have raid teams have all their Coil teams downing T5 at this point.

Not everyone needs to brag about downing T5 anyways. It's not really that big of an accomplishment anymore.

The key word was relatively speaking, and I was making a comparison to other servers. When compared with other servers, Goblin is slow and very few have beaten Turn 5.

I know that everyone doesn't do raids... My post was directed at people wanting to server-transfer for progression. A lot of people left Goblin for this reason - low population and lack of overall progression.

I was surprised when I talked to people from other FCs and found out that they only had one group farming T5 with their other groups stuck on T4 or early T5 - and I had been under the impression that more of their groups had cleared it.

Of course, I could be completely wrong since we don't have the master stats in front of us and ultimately, this is what I'm deducing from what I've seen (gear, party-finder) and heard (shouts, linkshells, tells) over the past few months. Outside of DARK and 1%, I didn't really start seeing other groups with Allagan weapons until relatively recently.

I will add a disclaimer to my original post. It would be interesting to see what the actual stats are.

People just don't log in to let you see the allagan weapons, turn 1-5 takes ~1hr 45min to complete, maybe even faster 1 shotting everything. After that log out, until patch day. I am pretty sure there are other FCs that cleared t5, not to mention most of us have 3-4 characters with full ilvl90 BiS (Pre-Patch).

I know. My static has had T5 on farm and I am aware that a bunch of people only log in for coil - most of my static is like that. But as I said in my disclaimer, this is what I've observed having played every possible day, for several hours, and being at endgame not long after the game came out.... and of course, I already said I could be wrong since it was based on my observations.
