(Paladin) Single Tank Twintania cooldown rationing? And general tips is nice.

My group's going to single tank Twintania for the first time next week, and I'm curious how to manage the phases as a single tank with adds.

Do you use any cooldowns while tanking the Scourges + Twintania?

And especially the Snake phase. At what moments do you usually pop which cooldowns? When is it most important to use them. Should I save them all for when we've gotten the 5th snake and beyond? Or is it worthwhile to use one or two during the second set of divebombs?

And any other general knowledge you've come across while single tanking Twintania would be nice. Thanks again.

Use rampart right after the pull. Conv/Lolsight + SS yourself for the 2nd Death Sentence. Then the normal rotation for DS.

You usually try to pop cds a bit before 2nd set of divebombs, so healers don't have to worry about you. Since you're solo tanking, I would pop hallowed ground right before the BLM/SMN aoe LB on the snakes to avoid stacks.

- Is gathering up 5 snakes (As opposed to the Kill one during divebombs, and refreshing the debuff with the second) a viable snake method for Single tanking Twintania? It's what my group's most used to, and I feel like the less we change about the group dynamic the better. I understand I can avoid a debuff if a DPS grabs a snake and they take it down, but I'm curious if it'll be just as viable to gather the 5 snakes. The way we've been doing it.

- Titan-Egi can still be used to eat up eggs in her collar, ya? A summoner's Sustain is enough to keep him alive?

Our tank usually pops up Hallowed Ground during the first pull, its cooldown already finished anyway by the time he needs it which is during snakes phase.

Use all of your CDs at the beginning, they will be back when you need them. The snakes, I usually use crappy CDs for first 3 snakes, then on my way to get other 2, pop rampart, conva, and sentinel, and my healers keep me up with all stacks on me. I go CDless when its just big snake left, so that I have some ready for Twin DS when she comes back.

Titan egi on hatch sounds like a terrible idea when you could easily have an offtank or melee soak it. If titan gets targetted by liquid hell then I see it becoming a mess. The smn would have to guide his pet away, taking away from dps he could be doing. Or just let titan and rez him, but thats wasted mana and just a lot of time wasted in general. Also if you have titan out, garuda isnt there to do mad deeps. Sounds like a really bad idea to me, but im no expert.

Can Titan-Egi be targeted by Liquid Hells? I've never seen someone's pet get targeted, only the players.

good point spooky. if thats the case then damn thats actually a pretty nice idea, if the rest of the dps is good. youd still be losing out on the garuda egi dps by doing this but it could make the hatch smoother.

I really like this idea, and I might suggest it to one of our FC Teams who have a very capable Summoner (we have a Black Mage instead so couldn't do this), and an Off Tank who could go on his highly geared Monk for more DPS.

It is a single tank run tonight, so I think our only off tank would be Titan-egi. From what I've heard it does work, and I recall someone saying Sustain from the summon is enough to keep him alive. Sure it'll hurt the SMN DPS, but since we'll be up and extra DPS I don't think it's that big of a deal. We'll without a doubt kill TT before the enrage at the point because of the extra DPS.

Last time Titan-Egi accompanied me while tanking Hatches (I'm a Dragoon who usually eats all the hatches btw), our Summoner couldn't keep it alive or it's just that our Summoner purposely killing it for the lulz. It's either. So ye.

The reason we used Titan-Egi last time because Twintania keeps on throwing Liquid Hell on me and I need to run away from the 3rd neurolink, hence no one will be left to tank the hatches.
