As other have said, you'll want to level up CNJ (at least to 15, if not 34) right away to unlock PLD. It's very rare to see players above 30 that do not have a job soulstone equipped. So with other classes as well, you'll want to do the job quest when you hit 30.

In general, leveling classes up to 15 is not a big deal, provides a few cross class abilities that other classes can use, and fulfills secondary class requirements for jobs. It's never a bad thing to try out a class or two to 15 if the mood strikes you.

Take a chill pill lol. I was playing as a first timer in FF14 back then, so I just do all the main scenario quests without regard of anything else.

To be fairly honest, you can't mess up anything even if you TRY. The main dish to at lv50 anyway. The low levels before then are just teasers.

Do the quests as they come up. You get good stuff for most. Lvl 40, you will get shield oath which is one of your best tanking "weapons". 45 they GIVE you 4/5 pieces of your AF gear, which is the best available at that level.
There are actually people with innate talent to play a tank class without having to go through numerous dungeons just to learn. I fate grinded my way to 50 and I'm doing pretty okay

Get Cnj to 15, so u can grab your PLD soul @30. From there level pld exclusively to 50 (while making sure to complete your pld quests and doing all dungeons). Once you get a job to 50 and beat the story, go ahead and level other stuff. If you do this, you "should" level other classes fast (since it feels like there's some type of exp boost factored into having a lv50)

Try not to fate grind at all while leveling pld, because the tanking experience you get from dungeons will help you transition into the 50s dungeons

You should definitely level up Conjurer to unlock Paladin since it's essentially a better Gladiator but without the wider variety of cross-class skills. You'll have access to all Gladiator skills, new Paladin skills, plus the cross-class skills from Conjurer and Marauder.

Thank you very much for explaining it to me, that will make things a lot easier for me.

One great tip, do not use riot blade for tanking, and learn when and how to use flash.

As a PLD your stats will get better, I think nobody said it, and it's best to have the oaths as soon as possible. As the rest have said, do the PLD quest as soon as you can. Then do the job quests soon too when available, it's worth it.
