Best Gear for Garuda EM? (BRD)

So, I recently just unlock Garuda Ex (Finally), and I am "technically" geared enough to enter the instance. But, if there is one thing Ive learned from the HM versions of the primals- just because you can go in, doesnt mean your not going to get your happy pink tail handed to you :I.

So, does anyone have any suggestions on what gear I should try and get before attempting this?

Replace all your accessories with Darklight and Myth (most likely ring since Darklight ring is unique) would be a start. You need dexterity to do more damage so I don't know why you have that bracelet and wolf rubellite ring on.

I agree with what Lemon8or said. Have you been working on capping myth ever since you became level 50? If yes, save up for the bard myth top, but if not, get the myth ring. If you plan on getting the myth top first, there is an alternative ring you get from completing all 5 ranks of the archer hunting log. To get that, you go to Gridania, take the aetheryte to the Lancer's Guild, and go to Apkallu Falls. Finally, talk to the npc, named Jonathas, to claim your reward.

Also, go run some CT to get better gear. You can get item level 80 stuff from there once a week and fortunately at the same time get philo and myth.

Echoing what they said, when you turn 50, it's time to hit up CT hardcore for both the items it drops and Philo/Myth tomes.

I turned 50 on the 8th, entered CT for the first time on the 9th. Less than 2 weeks later and doing pretty good so far...

Going to get a third CT piece today/this week and another Myth piece too.

You can do it, CT isn't hard, just gotta put in the effort!

You would have been better off getting the melee or caster DPS Darklight Ring instead of the tanking ring, from a DPS standpoint, it's going to be higher. Survivability is not a reason to get the fending ring, encounters are tuned with the understanding that DPS classes do not have VIT on their accessories.

You'd be even better off using the Master Archer's Ring from finishing Bump on a log: Archer, buying a Gryphonskin Ring, or getting the Myth ring of Aiming (only 325 myth). Even a non-melded HQ Spinel ring would be better than equipping a ring that does not give your primary stat (Dex).

I can switch that up, I have more than enough Philo stored away. Thanks for the feedback, and yeah, you saw what I was going for... In my head, I wanted more survivability at the time... :x

    Thanks everyone!

I actually do have the master archers ring- thopught i had it on, actually...weird derp moment >,>
I got the other rings/braclet of the market boards *before the master ring was a thing), because I rarely get any drops and they were cheap/better than what I had before pretorium.

I havnt managed to cap my myth yet (and what myth I had, I spent on the Bard AF+1 hat), so My best course of spending would be the earrings, right?

Isn't the ring better? Well it use to be the ring is best bang for the buck regarding myth upgrade and it's also the easiest i90 ring you can get, the other 2 are the primal ex and turn 5 aiming ring. Anyway to get into garuda ex, just change all your accessories to DL and you are good to go, as long as you know your class well you should not have problem in garuda ex.

Forgot to mention, you should do Ultima HM and get the choker of aiming, beside DL choker it's the only other aiming choker with accuracy.

Well, my advice here is that you still have too much Accuracy. If you have enough Tomestones of Mythology to spare, you could consider getting the Bard's Tights (Mythology gear at iLVL 90) as the Allagan legs actually drop from T5 in Coil. The extra Vitality, Dexterity and Critical Hit Rate boost should help increase your damage a lot as it your Bloodletter resets depend on your critical hit rate. Besides that, you should also change your bracelet and the lower levelled ring to the Mythology accessories. That's probably gonna cost you 1575 tombstones (including the legs) and that's a month's worth of farming lol. But the biggest upgrade for you to tackle Garuda EX is definitely the Bard's Tights.
