Turn 5 Melee Positioning for Snakes

I had a question for those that have cleared Turn 5. Currently, I am at the Twister/Dreadknight phase but wanted to hear some feedback for where a melee should be standing for the snake phase after finishing the second set of divebombs. I am aiming for more consistency and some advice would be really appreciated.

Should I (Dragoon) not worry about getting hit with stacks of dissemination and try to kill all of the little snakes asap to apply the debuff to the Big Snake? Or should I stay out of the way and stay on the big snake in a spot where the dissemination won't reach me? An earlier attempt we were too slow on small snakes and my dissemination had 2 secs left. Our final try for the night was actually our best and even though I tried to stay out of dissemination, I still got hit but it was done fast enough that it wore off in time.

Please let me know your suggestions! The group I am playing with is progressing very quickly, and with a few adjustments I think we might have it.

From my experience, if you're hit by more then 1 stack you're done. Wiped many times at 2 hour because people have more then 1 stack and get oneshot

In my group we only have one Melee DPS and he normally just stays on big snake while the range DPS take care of the little snakes. The only person who has any stacks of debuff is normally our off tank. Our DPS ilevel range from 85ish to 90 and we normally have like 3 or 4 seconds to spare before Twintania comes down.

Tanking is a job, DPSing is a science and Healing is an art.
If the Tank dies, it's the Healer's fault. If the Healer dies, it's the Tank's fault. If the DPS dies, it's their own damn fault.

This is one of those fights where foresight is more useful then bloodbath. You can survive 4 stacks with that and either healer shield up.
For a first clear I suggest standing on the tank holding the big snake till after the lb so you only get 2stacks.

Thanks for the advice. I did notice during our attempts, although I got hit with a stack of dissemination, the timer on the stacks was done before Twintania returned to the field...and even after she returns you have maybe 7 seconds before aetheric profusion goes off.

So, if the timer wears off before Twin returns, I am guessing that would mean the dps is at the right pace?

You shouldn't care about the stacks, they should be off before Twin returns.

I guess it depends on your group composition and how you deal with the hygeia. Realistically you shouldnt have to worry about the debuff as it should have worn off before aetheric profusion.

I personally as a dragoon only attack ascelpius during the first part whilst our smn/blm takes the hygeia down to 60%, after the 2nd set of divebombs we gather near the 2 new hygeia, caster lb2 the lot leaving 2 hygia at about 35%, then have the blm double flare whilst i heavy thrust > ring of talons > dragonfire dive, positioned very close to all the snakes normally pick up all 4 debuffs then just go to town on asclepius.

If your group is having trouble killing hygeia in time try to position the snakes quickly in a pre placed shadowflare/flaming arrow so that the caster can preemptively use lb2, we normally battle voice foe at this point too.

I play dragoon and i take all the stacks, our whole group takes the stacks actually. By the time Twin comes down to do profusion our stacks are gone, For this to work tho the Caster LB has to be come soon as the small snakes reach the big snake, you should have enough time to dps big snake and not worry about it.

Yes, Hakmatic, I believe this is exactly what we did that worked. I think we had a good 7 or 8 seconds after killing the big snake to sort of wait for Twin to come back.

Again thanks for the advice, I will let my group know since I think what we were doing seemed to be what everyone was comfortable with! I guess we need to sort out our plan for the dreadknights and twisters...since it was everyone's first time seeing that phase last night....
