Help! Titan keeps farting me off the platform in phase 3!

I'm rather new to titan ex but last night I finally got into a party that got past the heart phase and into 2 phases of the baby titans. I was able to dodge basically everything until the upheavals in phase 3. Since the platform is small there's very little room for error. I'm going as a DPS and it seems like if I stand too close to him he farts me off forward and if I move back a bit he farts me off backwards.

What exactly is a good marker for standing for upheavals? I know when you are gowled you stand "within his target circle" but if you are just a DPS killing the gowl where should you be standing? I saw myself "hiding" inside the gowl (as in my chara was fully hidden by it rather than inside it) but I still got blown off backwards. What is the best spot to stand in this situation?

Stack right near titan's right heel. You should be fine from right there

I usualy stand in the middle of the gaol. If I'm out, the player jailed is out too

Unless everyone in your party is having the same issue as you - if you're farther back than anyone else you're probably doing it wrong.

It can help to not do ANYTHING immediately before or after the Upheaval as errant motion can cause you to fall while you're temporarily hovering over thin air after the knock back. Just wait to be rubber banded back onto the platform.

The thing is usually I have to be attacking the gowled person near the upheaval so I guess I can't just stand there or they will die

looks like ur problem is the DIRECTION ur toon is facing titan, always face his butt as close as possible

Facing has nothing to do with it. Same as Demon Wall. The direction you go is based on the line from Titan's center through your center.

I was always facing his butt anyway I think.
Quick question - is upheaval a direct cone/straight line attack?
If I stood say to the side next to Titan would I be safe from getting blown of or does he blow off in a circumference as in there's no safe zone?

Reason I"m asking is during one other upheaval the tank spun him around so that his butt was facing another direction and all of us were standing to his side killing a gowl.
None of us got blown back so makes me wonder if in fact it's a cone and there can be a "safety zone" to his side?

Your facing relative to his animation doesn't matter.

The exact center of his target ring is the point of origin. It pushes you directly away from the center.
