    New mode idea: Expert Guildhests

So, sometimes dungeoning can feel a little drawn out, sometimes when I log on I'm in the mood for short sharp bursts instead of protracted battles.

Perhaps you could develop a series of expert level Guildhests. Encounters that last only 5 minutes or so, but require expert level timing and teamwork.

Perhaps you could even create a mode that strings them together, with increasing difficulty and reward as you progress (kind of like a horde mode).

Players could receive ratings on completion, you could even add a leader board to show the groups who've managed to make it the furthest.

You could do so much with this idea, have themes, tiny sections of dungeons, bosses from certain dungeons, or entirely new encounters such as an endless wave (until the timer runs out) of small enemies that will overwhelm you if you don't manage the fight efficiently.

You could make pre-made and roulette versions.
Even make daily challenges that require specific groups.
Or have a slider that increases difficulty/reward.

Something like this would add a lo of playable content, challenge players who are burnt out on the few challenging dungeons, and you could recycle content while making it feel fresh.

    What does the forum think?

Short yet difficult guildhests would be great. (Would be nice to have more 8-man ones)

There's lots of room for interesting mechanics in guildhests, could scale the difficulty quite easily.

It would be interesting. I'd like to see Guildhests beyond just battles as well. They could make fun, unique instances based on mechanics as well.

Like...an AoE marathon! There's a start line and a finishing line, with LOTS of different kinds of instant-death AoE mechanics of varying shapes and widths and its your and other party members job to dodge all of them. (And if you wanted, make them fight someone at the end if you must)

Or guildhests that actually involve a gatherer or crafting class to accompany the party. The gatherer has to get materials near certain true-sight, sound mobs in order to be victorious while the party has to hold them off. Or for a crafter, a party kills certain specific mobs or get to chests to get materials that a crafter has to use to craft a specific item to clear the dungeon.

Some of the guildhests do currently have interesting mechanics, but I do think they could do a lot more with the system.

So you want a guildhest like the beginning of Raiders of the Lost Ark? Sign me up. The reward better be a bullwhip and a fedora.
