FFXIV better than GW2 if patch1.18 success

I watched the entire 20 minutes start to finish. I don't mean to stray off topic as well but that looked pretty fantastic, and underwater ANYTHING in any game never interests me as it usually leads to frustrating gameplay but again that looked great. Although the battle system is rather bland at the moment, I do prefer the style in FFXI / XIV which is the absolute main reason I'll stick this this MMO

I have in fact played GW2 at a convention briefly, *** was pretty fun.

Just being nit picky - How many people played ffxiv briefly before it launched and had fun?

But I'd definitely try GW2 if I can't handle xiv anymore... or maybe I will since it'll be free like GW

GW2 is gonna be a huge hit at box release that much is for sure. XIV will contend with it for a little while but XIV will win out in the long run after PS3 release when 80% of SQEX's market joins the game (Japan Console Players). XIV's subs & PS3 sales will destroy ArenaNet's F2P Boxsales in the end.

Will I be playing GW2? Hell yes it looks amazing.
Will I be playing FFXIV? Hell yes it looks like its getting much better.

It depends on the type of orange and the type of apple.

You shouldn't generalize a complicated statement like you have without a little helping of details. What kind of fruit is an important factor.
