    Please add an option for solo dungeons for storyline dungeon quests

    Since SE has made dungeons a part of the main story-line, I feel it is only fair to give players the option of being able to do them solo with the ability to still summon your chocobo companion. I enjoy playing FFXIV and think the story is great. I really enjoy playing mmorpgs but I like to play at my own pace or to play with close personal friends when our schedules allow us to team up.

    I don't like the fact that I can't continue the story I'm playing through because I have to depend on others. Don't get me wrong, I like being able to jump in and help others. I find it discouraging though, when someone rage-quits for whatever reason and makes it impossible to continue or despite the whole group's best effort we just can't get that last lucky hit in to win the battle before the whole group is wiped and the timer expires.

    I think the optional dungeons/raids make sense to keep them as a party required but for the story-line ones they should have the option of solo or party.

    I disagree. I get that it's not entirely uncommon to make an MMO where you can solo the world and don't need help from a single other person to make it through the main game entirely, but I don't feel that every game needs to be that game. That you might need help from other players in order to complete your goals, or can help others to complete their goals because it's too dangerous for players to conquer by themselves is part of the appeal of an MMO, and I don't think that necessarily needs to only apply to a few "end game" dungeons.

    It would take too long for them to balance every single story instance in order to accommodate a solo player with or without their companion and/or summoned pet, so I would rather they spend that development time elsewhere.

    Also: people complain enough about the difficulty of the solo storyline Duty battles, so then they would have to test and re-balance these, or give everyone a buff upon entering that would negate the challenge altogether.

    Do you really want to spend half an hour (or longer) alone in an instance? It would drive me crazy.

    In most of the MMOs that I've played, dungeons were completely optional to get special gear and items or tokens. This is the first MMO that I've played where you couldn't progress your story until you completed a dungeon. The Duty battles are a challenge but they're manageable and for some if not most of them you have assistance from NPC characters which is nice that they do that. I just find it a little ironic that when you complete a story-line dungeon the people you turn the quest in to say how awesome you as an individual are for having beaten that challenge by yourself yet you had to get 3 other people to help you do it.

    I know my request isn't for everyone but there have been several others who have added this request to a list of suggestions and I felt it is a good idea. I also acknowledge that this request will never be implemented but I still felt inclined to express my opinion.

    The leveling process is good as it is. People will tend to learn thier role from begining by doing those dungeon blocks.

    So no. disagree to have solo dungeons etc.

    The leveling process is fine. I somewhat understand the statement about story dungeons, but that's a one time deal and your done. Not worth the effort for them to rebalance it for a one time quest line. This is an mmo. Please make friends and join an fc. Well make your life a lot easier.

    There really wouldn't be much of a re-balancing effort on their part as they already have the algorithms in place. If you think about it, they sync your level to a specific one when you enter the instance and the enemies already exist in the game elsewhere. Its an extension of what they use with the levequests. Yes, you can technically do a level 20 levequest with a level 50 toon but why would you. With the levequests they see what level you are compared to the quest level and move the enemies up to the next level to keep them on par with you. If you aggro too many you can still get yourself wiped as well as if you're way under-geared.

    What I propose is that for the dungeon algorithm they add a clause that says if you're solo then add a level or 2 to the enemies above your synced level and let you proceed. They can also add a statement that says this is only possible if you have the quest in your queue.

    As far as joining FCs, I don't like joining ones run by others. I've tried it in the past with other MMOs and I don't care for the environments and attitudes that come with it. I work 2 jobs and don't have the time to grind to meet others expectations. I enjoy playing through the story and exploring the world.

    As for people learning their roles, they can only learn if other players are patient with them and guide them, unfortunately in most cases, you get people who have no patience and want to run through the dungeon and yell and complain about the 1 person who might be doing their role for the first time. Then either the complainer rage-quits or the person learning the role quits because of embarrassment/frustration and the rest of the group is unable to complete the dungeon because of it. Then you have to re-queue for the dungeon and hope that it doesn't take 30+ minutes to get in again.

    This is why I'd prefer to have the option of going through a dungeon on my own.
