Unless quests give some massive sp, grinding is still going to be king. First level cap raise, assuming they remove fatigue also, is going to net you 300-400 sp per mob and more than likely with upgraded dungeon/materia gear take even less time to kill.

Well, they should make mob grinding the most efficient way to do things, but make quest doable to level, but also add a bit of lore to the game at the same time.

This way it separates between three different play styles.
    Mob grinding (Hardcore Players)
    Quest Grinding (RP Nuts)
    and Levequests solo play (Sheep)

Sp gain should be like this IMO...

Party mob grind xp (best xp/hour)
behest (2nd best xp + rep points)
    Leves
    quests

depending on how much time you have to play should be how you level...

In my view, I agree, but I also have to look at the other playstyles too because it keeps it ion all "fairness" if you want to call it that.

I'm more for the exp mob grinding, but hey, not everybody is, and if you can appease to all them like I am trying to break down, then you have yourself a system on which people don't bitch about leveling, though, you always get people who bitch about leveling. This just reduces that :P

I would rather have extremely hard challenges and once those challenges are complete to be rewarded above and beyond the usual. For example, you could be given the choice to solo Puks @ your level and be rewarded pitiful experience. Or you could fight a Morbol 20 levels higher and be rewarded 2,000 SP instead.

Basically, not interested in wasting my time killing x monsters for y experience for z levels just so I can do the things I really want to do. I want actual progression. Met with Challenge A..... struggle... overcome... level up.... Move on to Challenge B etc.

This could also be implemented in the exp grinding structure everybody in this topic is contributing to. Add extremely difficult, nothing anywhere near easy, and give a HUGE reward.

Just need to make it so people can't exploit the mob to kill it, like resetting it and attacking it again before it regains HP.

Grinding parties are bad, no thank you.

Furthermore it's absolutely mindboggling to me that people are promoting the idea of killing thousands of dodos to gain a level as the best, most enjoyable, and interactive method in which to progress in a game. Outside of Korea/JP how many games are produced in that manner anymore? It's archaic.

People love to claim that it's great because it was in FFXI and FFXI was popular. So supposedly FFXI had 500,000 subscriptions at its peak. I'd love for someone to show me just how many of those are outside KR/JP. Looking at it in that manner would show you how backwater the ideas/gameplay were in reality.

Then, witht his system, you could go and quest, or even solo at the Atheryte.
    ^ See this?

This shows that it would go to a bunch of different mindsets when it comes to leveling, not just "OMG, I HATE mob grinding! I wish i could do something else!"

    Thank you, Seikninkuru!

Another good example, someone who is more towards questing, and this is just the tip of the iceberg!

If you put in more ways to do things, then there will be many different type of play styles that can do their own thing.
