    DX 11 : D

    I am really excited for the DX11 graphical upgrade. I want to speculate here what we might expect from it and so far its already confirmed that we will be getting better shaders and textures but what other graphical improvements do you think we might get. not expecting huge tessellation its stressful even on most of today's graphics cards maybe very light tessellation if anything!

    GW: You mentioned today we can hear some more regarding PS4 version, before that I would like to ask you regarding DirectX 11 version. Starting with graphics, currently we have the highest settings in the PV version but what’s going to change from there?

    Yoshida: Basically the shader will change, and we’ll be using the features already on DirectX11 side for the shadow, lighting and reflections. We don’t have to use the shaders we spent a lot of work on since DirectX 11 side has those features, so it should change the image a lot.
    GW: How’s the texture resolution?

    Yoshida: We have no plans to change the resolution. I explained this before, but current games are not built on resolutions any more. For photo realistic effect the quality of normal map, for sculpt model it will depend on the amount of time spent, and for the quality seeing how realistic you can get the engravings to show by shining realistic light. These are the kind of things we need to tackle down. There are things which uses really low texture resolutions, but I think, you won’t be able to tell that it was even used. Game structure like the “previous FFXIV” are the only one that required resolution to fight, therefore I don’t think around resolutions.

    Can't wait. What we have already is pretty nice, but I'll take anything at this point. I don't know much about this kind of stuff though. From what I understand, DX11 should actually improve the performance, right?

    yep. especially if you have gpus that support dx11. wont be reliant on the cpu anymore once we make the switch.

    I hate to think that so many people are deluded when it comes this sort of stuff. Any and all revisions of DirectX are garbage in comparison to OpenGL.

    No texture resolution improvements? That's disappointing. In comparison with 1.0, there's a lot of pixilation in the details. Normal map and shader improvements would still be nice though. In the end, I just want more clarity in the details.

    I can't believe Yoshi is saying we can't tell that things use very low texture resolutions. Are you kidding me? You can literally see the pixels in almost every piece of armor... They look absolutely horrible.

    yes this true dont know why every think DirectX better it made Microsoft as opengl is bult by people all over the world
