    Beast Tribes and Primals

So, we have some beast tribes and their primal:

    Gridania:
    Ixal, Garuda
    Sylphs, Ramuh

    LimsaLominsa:
    Kobold, Titan
    Sahagin, Leviathan

    Ul'dah:
    Amalj'aa, Ifrit

I see a pattern here, even if I'm grasping at straws. What is the other major beast tribe of Ul'dah and what is their primal? I would guess that we are getting them and the Ixal as the beast tribe quests in 2.3 as we are getting the other Limsa primal and the Limsa tribes in 2.2

    Thoughts?

There were also once hecatoncheirs in Thanalan as well (a form of giant), which Ul'dah had once exploited as a source of slave labour (naturally this didn't work out well for them) - besides being mostly entombed within Copperbell Mines for centuries after they rebelled, a small group of hecatonchiers can also be found in a cave in Western Thanalan as well (near Cape Westwind).

The sultanate also did cast out all the beastmen from Ul'dah not long after the fall of Ala Mhigo too, which might go some way to explaining why Thanalan only has one apparent beast tribe where the other nations seem to have at least two.

I imagine the sixth primal would be Shiva, but the beast men would be maybe some new ice based mobs in Ishgard or maybe the Blue Giants in Coerthas, or the Gigas Giants in Mor Dhona. Just a guess.

My guess is that Shiva will be associated with either the Gigas, like the ones in Coerthas, or the dragons that the Ishgardians are at war with. From the existing lore dealing with the dragons it seems they are at least as intelligent as the beast tribes and not just mindless lizards, and they seem to be associated with the colder climate areas of the game. Ishgard will eventually become another city we will get access to, but maybe not until the first expansion or at least a couple content patches away.

There may be was seems to be a pattern of two per city state but I honestly wouldn't count on it.

There is also a chance that there may be more primals that the traditional ones. Odin for example is considered an elder primal if I remember correctly so there could be a bunch of them yet to come.

The pattern I saw was this:

Elemental Sprites or Attributes / Primal:
Fire / Ifrit - Fire Type Summons
Earth / Titan - Earth Type Summons
Wind / Garuda - Air Type (Wind) Summons
Water / Leviathan - Water Type Summons
Lightning / Ramuh - Lightning Type Summons
Ice / Shiva - Ice Type Summons

Well not certain on the tribe but fairly certain Shiva was mentioned as the final Primal to be added
So Leviathan in March and then the patch probably 3.0 would be Shiva

Well, if this official artwork is taken as any indication, Shiva would indeed be the 'final' Primal to be added, as all the other Primals shown on this image are either already in the game, will be added shortly, or mentioned directly as part of the storyline (it's interesting that even Good King Moggle Mog is shown there as well):

Having said that though, the original 1.0 opening movie clearly showed innumerable 'Primals' escaping (as beams of light) from Silvertear Lake when the Agrius and Midgardsormr crashed into it, rupturing the seal that contained them beneath the lake, so it's likely that 'group of nine' pic are not the only Primals that will be appearing in ARR. But then I guess we'll see in time.

They should make Odin a primal instanced fight!! Hes too legendary to be just a fate mob.

Well that's cool! Looks like my guess might be correct.

I also wouldn't doubt that other former summons will come out as primals as well. Another guess I have is Quetzacoatl. I think he will be involved with the Ixal since he is a Bird and the Ixal characters tend to have Aztec type names like Gozol Itzcan, Nezul Cattlan, Yotoli Hueloc, Kozol Nomotl, etc. & their origin is in a place called Xelphatol. When I see those words, it just reminds me of the Aztecs.
