Not unless they increase zone size...or at the very least fix it so that everything isn't bunched together.

There is a road in the Sylphlands that leads to Ala Mhigo, so we can assume at some point in the story we have to retake it back from Garlean control. At that point we will be on the doorstep of the empire.
The road is actually already clear but SE has not released the road into Ala Mhigo yet.
The City-State captured the Castrum guarding the path into Ala Mhigo back in 2.0 storyline and it is currently under Twin Adder and Sylph forces control. They're probably modifying the Castrum now into a Twin Adder Base.
That's actually incorrect - SPOILER ALERTThe road is actually already clear but SE has not released the road into Ala Mhigo yet.

They're probably modifying the Castrum now into a Twin Adder Base. But I digress...the only Garlean base the Alliance actually defeated in Operation Archon was Castrum Merindainum - all the others were just blockaded to prevent their forces from reinforcing CM. That task done, they've now been left to their own devices. It's why you still see Garlean troops there, they're remnant forces which the Alliance has left alone due to simply not having the man power to completely neutralize them. Even Raubahn admits this in the ending: "Even though the Black Wolf is slain, the rest of the pack remains".
Anyway, I'd just like SE to add the missing sections to existing zones before adding new continents and cities to the game - there is still so much to explore on Aldernard as it is. And considering SE released artwork of areas which haven't yet been added, it's highly likely this will indeed happen. So I guess we just need to be patient.![]()
I just want more of our zones back. Mor Dhona was cut in half, Coerthas is around an 8th as big as it was.
I'm absolutely dying to get back to Riversmeet. You have no idea.
Seriously.
I would rather have the current zones tripled/quadrupled in size and made more explorable than to have the same amount of new locals with as much to explore as the maps we currently have.
Bonus points if they remove the loading between zones.
Right now we don't have a world to see, just a collection of themepark attractions.
"Welcome to desert waste-land land, where you can feel the political unrest and pride in prosperity! Make sure to keep your hands and legs inside the road at all times, and do not climb onto the rocks; they are made of plastic and break easily. If you are looking for winter world, it's just a 3 minute walk down that path, and you'll be making snowmen before you can say load-screen!"

It's pretty much guaranteed that we'll be seeing more of Coerthas, considering the area is called "Coerthas Central Highlands". I imagine we'll be seeing more of Coerthas when we obtain access to Ishgard, since that is their territory.
Mor Dhona 1.0 was wild wooly and dangerous, at least immediately after launch anyway until they made it safer. Even then you still had to be careful.
On the map Catenau the location of the 'Final Battle ' was about lower left with Camp Brittlebark lower right. Brittlebark was where my self and L.S ( now F.C ) friends were when the end came and the servers closed. So sad.
