I just want to be able to go to Garlemald, specifically House Darnus :'|
Before we get additional continents, we're likely to gain access to Ishgard, Sharlayan, and Ala Mihgo first, not necessarily all at once. Likely with a couple of new jobs to go with them too. Then there's the Garlemald Empire, and that un-named land across the ocean to the east where horses come from referenced in the horse-themed new year's event.

For being a JRPG, I'm very surprised they never released a far eastern expansion in FFXI; hopefully we'll see one here, perhaps when ninja and samurai are introduced.

Similar to what Felis showed, this is the old Coerthas:
What we have now is the central highlands around that big hole in the middle.
Riversmeet is in the western highlands, across that bridge that is now completely blocked off by a giant wall of ice near what is now Behemoth's domain. I tried getting some BLM together once to burn it down, but no dice.
What I find interesting is that the current central highlands go directly into the Shroud, skipping over the lowlands. If you watching pay attention to the landscape at the margins though, there's a really really obvious difference. I'm wondering if they're just sorta scooting us over the lowlands and later we'll actually get them or if they just nuked the whole thing.

To this I found this picture, showing the old and new Central HighlandsSimilar to what Felis showed, this is the old Coerthas:

The current Central Highland have more or less the same size as the old Central Highland

Hoping all of this comes soon and is worth exploring. Don't know why they call us adventurers and not dungeon raiders. I don't see much exploration.

It is quite interesting how many, old or new players, wish that actually the map size from 1.0 should come back into game. . . but then there will also be the people who complain about bad performance and about getting lost. I think it´s quite a struggle for SE to fit everyone.
But personally I would love to see the ARR design on bigger maps. Currently they are really a bit small.
