    Doomtrain FATE Idea

    I'm sure others have thought of this already but just in case...

    I was walking around Central Thanalan and looked at the railroad tracks and a thought struck me. It would be so cool if we had a Odin/Behemoth type rare FATE happen on the railroad with Doomtrain.

    The weather could get all dark and gloomy and Doomtrain comes speeding through Thanalan summoning undead and casting all sorts of dark magic on the unsuspecting adventures.

    He could drop items that we could trade in for neat things like a Doomtrain toy minion.

    Thoughts?

    Please for the love of god, leave the good monsters out of FATES please. Also maybe consider keeping them outside of instanced corridor dungeons.

    Although your idea sounds nice, I would rather prefer a dungeon.

    1.You have the outspoken 'we're loving it' mob who are probably ignoring issues.
    2.In addition, there's the optimistic 'I'm having fun and waiting for more' group, who are willing to overlook some things and hope others are fixed soon.
    3.Then there's the 'I really want this to work, but it isn't' group, who see some faint promise in the game, but don't have a lot of faith that the developers will fix the large problems anytime soon.
    4.Lastly, there's the 'I dislike it, therefore no one can like it' group.

    I would prefer dungeon too, or a trial. Doomtrain is already in the game in Castrum Meridianum. But since the whole place has been blown up with all kinds of experimental things maybe it could be turned into a "ghost train" with Imperial zombies and ghosts on board.

    Btw, that artwork.. wasnt it Sabin + Cyan+Shadow, not Locke+Edgar for Doomtrain? lol (Still funny artwork) & yes to suplex to monk! lol

    That's actually not correct - npcs at Black Brush Station actually state it really is a proper railway rather than just being mine carts - and that if you wait long enough you can see the 'magitek locomotive' that hauls the trains. Of course this is just flavour text - sadly no trains ever actually appear on them in the game, but the main thing is, it is definitely a railway.

    Not to mention the official website makes mention of 'iron causeways spanning the desert wastes' and powered by a fusing of 'Imperial magitek technology with the mine carts of Ul'dah', which is probably the source of your confusion between the two.

    Then there is the railway that runs between Castrum Meridanium and Castrum Centri (which is nicknamed the 'Phantom Train'), but that's Garlean built and operated and hence is seperate to the Ul'dah line.

    Well I'm expecting Doomtrain to be a boss where his body serves as a Dungeon where we move through doom train and fight it once we reach its head.

    As of current story progress we know so far this maybe the story dungeon we run to get into the Garlean Empire.

    Entering the Garlean Empire via train would be one way to get into the place and if they have a remix of a FFVII or FFVIII battle theme once we are in the Garlean Empire my fanboy inside will go crazy.

    Seriously though a Doom/Ghost train full dungeon would be awesome. Would be something different from current dungeons. Make it creepy as hell. Skeleton mobs jumping from windows and ceilings. Then final boss is Doomtrain.
