Im thinking it would be incredibly hard if not impossible to balance this so that all DOW/DOM/JOBS could do this as fast as the next one. I can also imagine that if Ranger is brought into xiv and gets widescan that job would have a big advantage in this sort of competition being able to scan the landscape and identify the monsters that will reward them the best points.

These kinds of comments never made sense to me. Someone spends an their lifetime learning a skill that they excel at so the world should change all its rules an balance everything around them so they don't have a leg up over others? That is very communistic.

If someone has a skill no one else has they should be allowed to use it to their fullest to achieve their own goals.

As far as everything else. I love the idea, would love to see it implemented. Though I would make it so you can only get NM Bonus points once. Once you have downed an NM during a hunt from then on it only gives normal points.

The discussion was going towards balancing so that the competition was fair, i was just saying that it would take alot of balancing to do i wasnt advocating for one or the other. Personally i think there would come a point where trying to balance it so it was totally fair would/could just ruin the experience.

an idea for balancing would be job-specific times. Basically, see out of everyone who entered the instance as a THM, it would class their times with other THMs that did it. Same for ARC, MRD, PUG, etc.
