The balcony-ish area just off the Aftcastle in Limsa has always been my go-to spot for screens, especially at night. Haven't experimented much with other locations though!

That's because the lowered the resolution in 2.0 1.0 had much better graphics, but you needed a really beefy PC to run it well.
