Moving past the PS3

I'm currently very happy with the game & not even remotely concerned by 'ps3 limitiation' at the moment, but with all the interest people have showed on this topic I thought I'd share this with everyone.

While I was clearing coil today with my static, I realized that I was very often holding my team back due to playing on the ps3. (Long loading times and game gfx sometimes don't load properly or they lag on my screen) It made me start to realize why so many pc users keep complaining about PS3 limitations. I fully support SE moving support from the PS3 to other resources in due time. It's needed for Eorzea to flourish and when the time comes, hopefully I'd have upgraded to a ps4 already. Hahaha

I really can't justify putting down $100+ on an SSD for my ps3 when the only time loading times bother me is when I play FFXIV. I'd rather put that money towards a PC or a PS4.

I totally understand but its a cheap fix.

PS3 is not really dead though. a lot of good jRPGs are coming and I'm gonna play PS3 games more than PS4 for at least 2-3 years.

It's just very bad timing that Sony releases the PS4 a year too late or else SE would have dumped the PS3 from the beginning.

however, I'm so glad that they'll dump it soon.

Ya but id rather put that money to save for a ps4 . Why buy that one thing for 1 game and then when get to new console never play it again because they stop doing content for the PS3. Seems like a waste of money.

Please MR Yoshida if you dont "Know" about a topic just dont speak about that.

According to Yoshida, when you have a PC with the exact same specs as a PlayStation 4, the game runs much smoother on the PS4 with the game running at up to 60fps (frames-per-second), which makes sense due to the console being a dedicated system for gaming, without other processes running in the background.

I have a Secondary Pc. This Pc have the following Specs

Intel I5 2500k 3.7 GHZ. "Without OC".
8 GB RAM
SSD DISK
Radeon 7850

This Machine can be considered "equal" to a Ps4 and Guess what Mr Yoshida?

This PC in 1080p with 95% max Settings the average FPS is 45 - 90. In overpopulated areas the minimum FPS this system reach is 38 FPS.

In dungeons 60 - 100 + FPS.

The ps4 Ver will Run "Most the time 30 FPS" and in some areas, probably in "Dungeons" of 4 people 60 FPS.

If ARR in ps4 would run "60 Solid FPS" in all areas then i could agree with you.

Why tell to the community the ps4 can beat a equal PC specs in ARR then -_-?

Yes we all know a Console is a Dedicated System for Gaming and if the "Dev team" Know how use a console in the right way. the Console can beat a equal "specs" pc. But in ARR it is not the case 30 FPS and Not even using the half of DX11 effects. (Watch Tomb Raider Definitive edition, this game DESTROY a PC of equal Specs Easy. TR Yes ARR NO.)
