    That nice for them, but I think it should be added to some battle classes as well. I would prefer some of them like in FFXI to provide crafters the possibility to make items that provides the sneak/invi effect BUT I would even compromise if they decided to give every class an ability to do so, would create less of a hassle compared to 2-3 person having to sneak/invi the whole alliance.

    Checked in with Matsui about the possibility of sneak and invisible in FFXIV. In regards to a sneak/invisible (item/ability/spell, etc.) that can be used by all classes, the dev. team is not planning on going in a direction where sneak/invisible are required, or if you don’t have sneak/invisible you can't proceed, so there are no plans for them currently.

    Didn't Yoshida say in a producer letter that they were thinking of giving gathering classes stealth skills to avoid aggro?

    A bit sad about this actually, where is my dislike button! :P

    I think sneak/invi add depth to the exploration side of the game and could make for very thrilling situation if I base my experience in FFXI several years ago. Mobs are so boring as it is now, they pretty much all react the same way and there is no fun/strategy in that department... it's just stay as far from the mob as you can and keep running...

    Again, a disappointment. Blows my mind these spells/items didn't exist at launch. But guess we know why now.

    Yeah they wanted to make sure not to "copy" fun and good elements from FFXI, instead they went straight to the easy/boring/unthrilling/unfinished-feel elements, even thought it is nothing new or creative, just lazy design.

    I do have wonderful nostalgia for Sneak & Invisible from FFXI, but I can understand the Development Team's decision. A Sneak and/or Invisible ability would be ubiquitous in an Armory System that allows players to equip any ability and an environment that allows for passive MP regeneration.

    Everyone would just level the appropriate mage class to get the ability, like most every player did with Cure and/or Second Wind.

    That is true enough but they would still have to do it. They could either make them high level spells or job specific. Even then, if they were like level 25 CON (exemple) it's ok if everyone get the spells if they level up, after all there would be items to provide those effect so everyone is still able to get them.

    The point thought is that it could make for more fun explorations and missions. Even if everyone is able to get the spell (they could make it available with guild marks only so it would be less common maybe) they still need to use it properly when it is needed.

    then they all followed me anyway! D:
