So I have all my crafting classes to 50..

And for the life of me I can't find any way to make gil. I don't have enough gil to make AF gear and not enough to overmeld my patrician set. I also don't meet the CP/control/craftmanship requirements for the 100% HQ guides, so I haven't figured out a solid 100% HQ rotation (can't figure out how to 100% HQ 40 durability items). Any advice on how I should start making gil would be helpful. I wanted to start out by selling HQ Twinthreads but I wasn't able to 100% HQ it half the time, so if anyone could give me a simple macro or rotation for it, I would greatly appreciate it. My current CP is 316 and my most geared class is Weaver. Thanks.

HQ Twinthread won't sell for much, they can actually be gotten relatively easily via spamming Peisteskin Treasure Maps.

Have you considered making a full Patrician set, then spamming quick synth to spiritbond those and convert to materia instead?

I feel like the real money to be made off crafting, outside of 2-star, is the materia market. But even that depends on how well your market is doing.

Does it give materia III or IV?

    1. make your own accessories
    2. sb them in CT
    3. sell the materias and philo mats, or craft 2 star with them
    4. profit

Sound like to me you finally finished the marathon and got all classes to 50 and hit a brick wall mentally. I did same thing but now I see. Your not gonna make a million a day if that's what your thinking.

Just go down the Market board and find a niche. I noticed and item today that's been pretty low for the last few days so I made a stack and got 20k overtime. Multiply that with what ever else you can put your hands in and your good . You really have to spend some hours doing crafting not 20min. Work your way up to 2star crafts for yourself not to sell unless you want to/ or have overflow of tomes.

Working your way up also helps with familiarize yourself with recipes and its materials. I "feel" like I know what every material raw or made comes from our where I can get it to either use my self or make a quick buck.

This is really good advice. You've done everything, so you've already got a great idea of what is really needed, and what was too expensive when you were leveling up. You'll also now know a lot about what people will buy regardless of cost, because I'm sure you've noted your own experiences when you absolutely needed something, but maybe couldnt be bothered to go and get. This knowledge is more priceless than fickle trends.

The patrician's set isn't that hard to make, and meld to be very useful. If you're 50 in all DoH, then a "simple macro or rotation" is NOT what you need. You have every ability at your finger tips, learn to use them. Look at the 100% rotations you can ifnd in these forums, and tweak them. Use "Comfort zone" when you get "good" condition and you don't have a staeady hand, or waste not up use "tricks of the trade" and you should be able to have more cp than most rotations require - which also will allow you to use ingenuity II instead of I, or inovation, or advanced touch, or basic synthesis...

2 star gear can be huge profit, but isn't worth it if there are lots of sellers constantly undercutting. See if there are any pieces with just a few sellers. High risk, not always high reward. Materia is worse risk/reward IMO.

One star mats have been profitable to me, just not always the same ones, and usually in small quantities. less than one star mats have been great too (dodore leather, shark oil). Less than one star gear has been profitable too (Mossy Armor costs me like 50gil to make and I'm selling for 10k). It's not super fast, or gobs of gil, but I pretty much always have both retainers selling the max number of listings. Be a savvy buyer, so you're buying materials low.

If you have all DoH at 50 and have their AF then you should be able to 100% HQ 1 stars (or get 90%) which is already good to make money.
When I was crafting for money to finance our FC House, I made few millions overtime (averaging 100K per day) but just crafting lvl 40-50 and 1 star gear. However that market is so competitive that lvl 30-40 items are usually better profits (less volume but better profit compared to crafting cost). AF on my server sell for 9-10K but you can easily sell lvl 30-40 items for the same amount with less than 1K investment.

Making money takes time... you need to replenish your retainers and update your prices all the time and look for niche.
Materia farming is one of the best way to make money as mentioned before and I'm only doing that now since I got tired of crafting for money and just include that in my weekly myth cap. CT is a very efficient way to spiritbond since you only need 2 runs to do it.

My weekly program for money is:
    - full set of DPS acc spiritbond while gearing my DPS alt in CT
    - full set of VIT acc spiritbond while doing coil with my main Tank (turn 1-3)
    - craft a 2 star item with the phil tomes from those runs

Not a lot of money but I can make about 200K a week with that program which doesn't require dedicated time.
while crafting for money, it'd always made sure to 50K for operating costs which is more than enough to finance mats and cristals.
With 50K in your hand, you should be able to fill your retainers for over 100K worth of items to sell.

their are so many ways to make money with crafting. fist and foremost, people are lazy, use that to your advantage. crafting low level crafting mats is a good way to go. also, stack it with of the Land and you can make a killing. spend about 30 min mining or gathering turn that into a ingot or log or what have you, keep an eye on what sells for a lot. ive made over a mil in crafting without even trying yet. just play the market and be patient.
