Well, allow me to throw my spec out..loadstone says GDC 14 is from Mar.17 -21st where Yoshida will be discussing an overview of ARR as a speaker. Since he'll be in CA. at that time and the live letter is in JP. Im sure the live letter will be a couple weeks before that with 2.2 releasing shortly after. If 2.1 last Live Letter/2.1 release (time span between the 2) is any indicator to go by. Dunno, but that makes sense to me.

{tomorrow}
I'm probably the only total nerd that is surprise no one has said...
BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH!!! (That would be March 15th <.<) Which is a Saturday this year so that seems unlikely. Now since the Live Letters are usually on Saturday evenings in Japan time, it would make sense if the Live Letter came out that day with the patch due on the 17th while Yoshida is at GDC. He's just going to talk about how FFXIV was totally relaunched and the decisions behind it-- not like he's there to hype the game up at all. The 24th is also a good date for the patch since they seem to like to patch early in the week Mon->Tues for 2.1, Monday for 2.15, Wednesday for 2.16.
It'd be funny if they completely spooked us and released the patch right after the Live Letter. Not counting on it, but would be pretty sweet. I'm expecting mid-way through March or late March since they want people to get hype over all the little details they expand upon in the LL. I'm personally excited for HM Brayflox - that place is so nice~

Back in 2.1 they said that future major patches (2.x) would come at a rate of 2.5-3 month between each. my guess condisering that is Live Letter XIII coming in the 1st week of march and the patch the tuesday after it

there's another speculation thread on the JP forums, they say 22-29, after the live letter.
