To be honest, I logged on here today with the intentions of writing yet another complaint amongst thousands...yet here I am, thanking you. Why? An old saying comes to mind, "You catch more flies with honey than vinegar". Granted, you are not flies, yet the same concept applies. Rarely do we think what impact our words may have on others, and though I doubt you all browse there forums extensively, I'd imagine seeing a wall of complaints and scathing comments about something you've given your career to inspires confidence.
So, with that out of the way, let me list the reasons why I thank you. First: while this game may have it's flaws, it is nonetheless a wonderful game, one in which I can get together with friends and do whatever we wish in a lush environment with beautiful music. Second: your drive. While this is my opinion alone, I cannot fathom trying to continue producing updates for a game when the forums for said game are full of hateful (though sometimes prudent) comments and complaints. The fact that you continue to do so is a indication of your character in and of itself. Third: your recognition of and loyalty to those who stuck with you. There are many of us who remember the nightmarish flop that FFXIV originally was, yet I also remember a long period of time (1 1/2 years?) during which subscription was completely free, and yet patches still came, making the game better even though it was going to flop anyways. I could think of more, but needless to say, thank you.
...Well there it is. Not what I expected to post when I logged on here, but there it is. Make of it what you will, call me a white-knight if you must (though my previous posts say differently), but I figured this needed to get out.
I know this might be a stretch, but if possible let's make this a "thank you" thread. Now, please, only do so if you truly feel this way. I did because, while they may have made mistakes, Yoshi-P and staff are in fact human and need a bit of encouragement every now and then. At the very least, they're trying![]()
