I'm glad. I really hope it helps you. Even if you play ACN in solo settings, the information I gave you should help for future content when you play SMN.@Ryuko
That DPS was back when I had item level of 74 or so I believe or 76, IDK, I'll find someone who can do a quick parse for me sometime so I can get a refreshed estimate up. I appreciate the information, though I don't have anything there to add or expand upon. I've liked and read through it though I assure you.
There's only a few things I haven't really done by this point, so there isn't really much content that's available that I can do, especially when for most of them they require a decent party that I can't seem to get matched up with. You can only try Garuda EM so many dozens of times before you stop trying altogether, I'll never get to the other fights if I can never get past that.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA I MADE IT TO THE END!!!
read everything now I know what going on in this thread.
wait.........
what is exactly going on?!?!?!

It blows my mind a good bit that this thread is still going.
Thread TL;DR - OP thinks FFXIV should be more like FFXI, and it isn't. He is sad, and wants to convince everyone that playing one game as though it were another is OK, and should not be frowned upon. Nobody agrees.
OP,
The hostility is unneeded, that's for sure.
However, "classes" were designed for solo play because you can cross class more supportive abilities on a majority of classes. JOBS however, were designed for party play. So people expect you to be on a job when you are in a party. :/ just how it goes.

FF14 is FF14, not 11, or wow
and in this game jobs are the primary end game roles, not base classes. you can't convince math formulas to output a different answer.

1st, to the OP. I agree with you to a certain extent. Dealing with PUGs sometimes you wish you have those extra ablities because ppl faceroll through CT, I know I have. I think having those extra utilites would be helpful for a group that is very new to content would be benefical. I see what you are trying to say and do and I think its ok.
But, say you as ARN get into a group that is very good. I would be frustrated seeing you trying to do extra buffs and heals that is not needed, when healing and buffs are covered then you need to focus soley on DPS. The problem that I see with your approach is if you are using DF you won't know what type of group you get. Personally I'm goign to suggest to my FC of doing HM primals, CT, and some other stuff as classes instead of jobs. I know our FC can easily get a group of 8 ready to do it. it would be a vanity project to have fun and not take the game so serious, but we would never do that if we were in new content trying to achive something.

Wow.. Such an entertaining thread lol
OP:
If you want to role ACN (or other classes) do so with friendly companions, via Linkshells, FCs or PF. I personally wouldn't have vote-kicked you for that, but many people have low tolerance (especially in CT where there has been an enormous amount of trolling).
Secondly, these forums (even with all the bantering) is an excellent, if not the best, resource for improving your ability to play this game effectively. I am very grateful for all the contributions and work many players have put in towards figuring this game out, personally knowing that I am maximizing performance for each role I play is the most satisfaction I have experienced from this game. I highly recommend reading through the forums (DPS, Tank, Healer roles, etc) to see the incredible amount of effort players have expended to inform the rest of us how to best play this particular game.
Finally, Good Luck!

Um, the only relevant content in this game atm are the EX Primals and Coil. You haven't done EX Primals ... have you even done Coil?
And I would generally be interested in your DPS parses as ACN.
