Hello,
I'm writting this to suggest an idea that I've been kind of wanting for a while and was sort of givin in PVP but not in the actual game. Right now, with the speed of leveling and limited cross class skills, the only true means of character progression is ilvl. Now, I'm not making this thread to start a war on ilvl and vertical progression, but only suggestion that another aspect of character progression be added with optional skill trees.
Right now we have the addition of job lines, but only Arcanist has to choose a skill line. The other classes are pretty straight forward. What I'd like to see is some level 50 content that earns points upon completition, and those points can be saved up and spent to buy new skills. The skills may have restrictions like DoW, DoM, All classes, Healer roles, Tank Roles, etc...
This way, aside from grinding for gear we can also go to grind for new skills. Now, the skills should take up the same slots as cross class skills, so that there are more options than the current obvious choices.
I also think that there could perhaps be a system to "upgrade" old cross-classable skills to make some more viable, for example give mercy stroke a debuff effect such as defense down, slow, or attack down, to make paladin more inclined to use it. This is just an example.
I would really like to see more options as far as customization goes and while jobs are suppost to restrict how many available cross class skills you have, currently that doesn't really do much since there are only a couple useful ones per job anyways. This will add another dimension to endgame and more personal choice in equipping skills.
