PS4 Beta Confusion

Correct, you will need to make a new character for phase 1. At the end of that phase character gets deleted. Beginning of phase 2 you can import your main character(if you have one) and use it from then on. And since they are now linked, yes you can use your character on either system, but since they are linked to the same account, you cannot be logged on at the same time even though they are different systems. Such as having your main logged on to your PC/PS3, and having a alt/mule character logged on with your PS4. This cannot be done. Only way this is possible is to have 2 separate SE accounts.

Uh Oh, When I downloaded to My PS4 it actually gave me the option to use one of my characters from 2 other accounts and I chose my prized lvl 50 PLD! if they let me use it or not, now I be confused, I hope they dont let me use that one then delete it?!

simon, at least make sure to save all yer data to the plastation plus cloud-at least I did do that, if you have a PS plus membership, may be a saving grace I dont know, but for real I dont really believe they'll del our chars.

Characters are saved server side, cloud shouldnt have anything to do with it. I don't believe they would just delete our characters, there must be some failsafe to recognise the time put into our mains.

Reply to Sion, you are correct, server side, none the less, if anything at all gets done to corrupt your data server side (god forbid), there will be the backup, I say this because of all of the ticks and fleas coming out of the last update for ps3.
When I saved ffxiv data to psplus cloud it saved character data separate from the saved game data- thats what I'm focusing on "character data".
