For starters you have the wrong class started to be a black mage, conjurer becomes white mage. After you reach level 10 and do your class quests for level 10 you will be able to start other classes. Thaumaturge is the class that becomes black mage, and the guild for thaumaturge is in Uldah. After you reach level 30 on your class, have completed all class quests up to and including the level 30 one, and have reached level 15 on your sub class (for black mage that is archer, guild in Gridania) you will unlock the job quests to become a black mage.

thaumaturge is the base class, u need to level it to 30 and level up archer too to 15, then, u can become a blackmage
oh god, why the site of final fantasy is so confusing? it does not speak any of that, I played ragnarok for 8 years and the site was so explanatory, I will have to make a new char T.T
No. Unfortunately not.
Black Mage (BLM) is the job version of Thaumaturge (THM). When you hit 30 on THM you can unlock BLM. You will also need Archer (ARC) at level 15. Every job requires a second job to unlock. In BLM's case, it's ARC.
At a certain point in the story, if you've been keeping up with your quests, at around level 15 - 17 you'll get sent to the other cities. Once in Ul'dah you can unlock THM. Before that, if you want, while in Gridania you can work on ARC. Once you hit level 10 on CNJ and do the level 10 class quest you can unlock other classes. That will allow you to start playing ARC and eventually BLM.
Edit: Some others posted while I was typing. However, you do not need to make a new character. You will want CNJ leveled later. You'll be glad it's already started. FFXIV allows you to play every class on one character.

then for me to be black mage I have to start a new char as Thaumaturge right?
No you don't. Just add Thaumaturge and Archer as additional classes along with Conjurer. This game allows you to advance any or all of the classes.
1st: Reach level 10 in your initial class and do the level 10 class quest. This unlocks the ability to add other classes.
2nd: Go to the class guild for the class(es) you want to add and do the introductory "So you want to be a <class name>" quest. This unlocks the new class and gives you a starting weapon or tool.
3rd: Once other classes are unlocked, you can switch between them whenever you like just by changing your main hand weapon/tool.
Note: Your level is specific to a particular class, so if you're a level 10 CNJ when you unlock ARC, switching between a wand and a bow will switch you between a level 10 CNJ and a level 1 ARC. You'll need to level up each class independently (although you do get a 50% bonus to XP when on a class that's lower level than your highest one).

No, you can just get your conjurer to 10, do the class quests, then head over to uldah and you will be allowed to start the same character on the thaumaturge class. You could reroll, but one of the great things about this game is the ability to play every job on one character, so why lose your progress on conjurer to save time?
I'm a new player too! I went to this site and it helped me out a ton. http://www.ffxivguild.com/
I went to the "Jobs" section and looked at the intro guides to each of them to find the prereqs. Anyway, hope that helps!
I'm making a summoner btw![]()
Since you've already unlocked CNJ, this will allow you to equip the Cure spell on THM to heal yourself during battle.
That will change after you unlock BLM, but we can talk about that later. Don't want to overwhelm you.
