Ok,I don't like what's going on with the PS3..?.

The dropped ps2 for everyone that doesn't have the Japanese version of XI. You could still get it for the PS2 if you had the Japanese version and an actual working ps2. Yes they want people to move over to the ps4, but I wonder how much pressure sony is putting on them to promote and develop for the ps4 in hoping it inceases sales for the ps4 it's self.

I think they said you're not supposed to pay PS PLUS,just the monthly fee of XIV.

I'm starting to want the PS4 version available sooner anyway. After patch 2.16, I don't know WTF SE did but controller gameplay is garbage now. There is horrible lag when switching between the hotbars, and horrible lag when using the D-Pad to cycle through mobs. These things were effortless pre-patch 2.16, what in the world could they have done to make the response time so terrible? I couldn't even cycle through enemies fast enough to keep sufficient hate tanking a level 20 guildhest yesterday, because I would hit the D-Pad and nothing would happen.

I am appalled, and it is making end game scenarios much more difficult than they need to be. As a DPS, I need to be able to switch between targets (especially in places like turn 4) on the fly without even a half second of lag. You know, like it USED TO BE SE!!!!

So disappointed...

I think they mentioned that all the gamepad issues was a bug and they were trying to hotfix it.

there is a hotfix going on as we speak, they identified the problem yesterday and acknowledged this issue as game breaking. one can only assume this is the major issue being fixed.

I doubt it since you don't even need it to play on the ps3. Sony unlike Microsoft doesn't want to milk you for every cent and make you have to have their premium service to access online games or parts of games.

Sorry if this sounds cold, but do you really expect a company which has a business model set to milk 10$ a month really focus on those with such limited resources. I would not expect any company to spend big dollars for design and test on any console after a year of its successor being on the market.

Also if $400, spread out over a year is to much, you really should look into getting a better job or some budgeting websites.

It is not appropriate to limit the entire player base to what a PS3 can support for a small number of people who cannot upgrade. I say pull the plug sooner then later.

I think the majority of PS3 users, myself included, will be using PS4 by that point anyway. I'm expecting to make the jump this summer. I don't think this is surprising or alarming. It's to be expected.

The PS3 needs to be cut off at some point because I don't want to be even remotely limited in the game just because the PS3 struggles in scenarios, I want it totally unleashed and fully loaded and the fact that they're even offering FFXIV on PS4 as a FREE UPGRADE to existing PS3 users just makes even more sense.

It won't take several years if PS4 comes out with games worth justifying the purchase of one soon. The number of total sales of PS4s just passed the 5 million mark, in comparison to the total 80 million ish PS3s sold. It has already jumped to the best seller list in Japan. It also opened up sales exceptionally well in the US. It was a good plan for SE to set their original plan for PS4 & PC, and use the PS3 as an early platform for people to join in on the fun. They basically played on the upcoming success that is PS4.
