It runs hot because the windows drivers for the hardware don't suck.
There wew reviews done when steam for Mac came out comparing the same games in windows and in osx on the exact same hardware. Windows version had osx beat by rather large margins.
5 of your examples use variants of the same game engine.Quake, Bioshock Infinite, World of Warcraft TESO, CS:GO, Garrys Mod, Assassins Creed, Portal, TF2, Left for dead 1+2 and many more. Might want to have a word with you about that.
At those saying Mac Clients would do anything BAD for PC players. It sure nice to be a wanna be troll eh?
At those typical mac haters, shoo shoo, no place for you in 2014.
What's the difference between PC and Mac ? I thought they're the same, using keyboard and small screen to play anyways...

If FFXIV ran on mac I'd totally ditch my pc for a new imac.
Statement: Run this game on BootCamp on a MacBook Pro, would love for FFXIV to come out on OSX, due to Macs being Intel, wouldn't take much...
Hold your horses, cowboy. You need to revisit things.I fear they will never look into it, no they will even make it ridiculous hard, to launch FFXIV with wine. There was a how to for 1.0. They patched it so wine wouldn't be able to launch it. There was a how to for ARR, but now you'd need to first log into windows, get your session ID and launch the game with the session ID whic is way more work than just booting into windows.
ugh. I want a mac client more than anything else on FFXIV ARR =.=
1. Patcher works fine in wine, but does take some work to get there.
2. Session ID is only necessary to bypass the patcher.
3. Session ID is obtainable via /proc/
And if you don't want to fight with anything, you take the lazy route and use CrossOver.

Not quite. It being Intel only means the architecture is the same. Libaries and hardware interfacing is drastically different from Windows. You can't write a wrapper around the existing files and call it done.
Macs are pooper dooks. D:
Get Windows before the whole thing comes crashing down.
