Posting the name of who initiated the check will limit its use out of battle because if one person is spamming it that's harassment and you'd be free to vote-kick them. There it is. I was hoping someone would post Camate's response. Did everyone miss that? Camate looks to be saying something different than Hvinire. What Hvinire said is related to "limiting the use of ready check outside of battle.." To me, it sounds like they are looking into preventing you from spamming it while outside of battle for 2.3. They could still do other things, such as not allow a ready check while in battle, or display the name of the person initiating it as Camate said."
So from what I can gather from putting both of these quotes together (and this could just be me being very very hopeful as its possible that one quote is overriding the other in reality) is that in 2.2 or somewhere near said patch we might be able to see the name of the person initiating the ready check. And in 2.3 there will be actual limitations like no ready check during battle or limiting it to only the party leaders(if the 'party leader only' one is implemented I would only do this limitation for CT and other large scale raids like it since there are instances where the party leader may be AFK while waiting to queue up for a normal single party dungeon).Greetings,
The development team is looking into placing limitations on the use of the ready check feature, as this should not be used during battle. In addition, for patch 2.2 they are also discussing making it so the person who initiated the ready check will have their name displayed.
EDIT: I just re-read the 'outside of battle' part in the update for 2.3 This could even mean that 2.2 or a patch near this one can still implement the limitation on it being used in battle! The 'outside battle' limitations could easily refer to who can initiate the check, a potential cool-down timer after it has been used once or twice, how many times a single person can use it (if its not just the leader who can use it), etc. I'd welcome any of these and would be pleased as punch if ready check being disabled during battle could be implemented in 2.2. Heres to hoping!
I am happy about the possibly of being able to see a person's name seeing as though we can single out who is trolling and kick for abusive behavior until the time comes for limitations. However there are loop holes. Not being able to vote dismiss from another alliance can give you no power to kick a troll on another group. And as someone has mentioned, what if said group was a pre-made thus making it impossible for said troll to be kicked? Hopefully the name display will be happening in 2.2.
Nonetheless, thank you for the update on the situation![]()

Thanks Camate and devs.
Having both will definitely help curb the abuse of what is a very good feature.
Should also display names of people initiating vote kicks and vote abandons, gets very annoying when someone keeps spamming them even when it is rejected.
I agree that a message in the chat box would be nice. So you know, though, it assumes the person initiating a ready check is ready. So the person that initiated it would be the person with the only check mark at the very beginning.
Let it only be done before entering an instance, and once after a boss fight, and if it fails once again. I don't limits, man.
Also regarding the Ready Check feature: can you make the default 'ready' instead of not? I went to initiate a ready check at the same moment one popped up, so my click managed to make me a 'no' when I was a 'yes'. I never even saw the full window, I clicked just as it was flashing into existence. Or a way to change from not ready to ready? that would be very useful instead of a mis click
just make it so it can only be done by the party leader...
In LotRO, only the leader of your party gets to ask for a ready check. Problem solved.
There really needs to be a curb for the ready check and the vote abandon features - Vote abandon should just be removed altogether as it is being abused. Vote abandon is a very useful tool, when it is used for its intended purpose, however when its used after 1 wipe in a raid, everyone else rejects it and the party lead keeps spamming it, its outright abuse.
The party check should be initiated by the party leader only. A lot of the MMO's out there follow this logic.
