Melded Materia lost

After the most recent update all my Crafting and Gathering LV50 gear has lost is melded materia. When changing class I get the message "... was equipped but material could not be restored". This is around 30/35 pieces of materia that has vanished .

The message is a bad translation. You actually have the materia still melded in (if you dont, thats terrible), but the new gear sets allow for pieces to be saved with similar names and diffirent materia layouts.

Basicly, the standard setting is for it to grab a piece with no materia, and if there is no piece with no materia, it grabs a piece that holds materia (the thing you wore before) and errors you into saying that the materia it held differs from the materia saved in the set (none, by default).

Just re-register the set, and you're done and back in action again without errors.

Hi Surian, did this and it has worked for 3 classes but the remaining 8 are still gone. grrrr this is kinda annoying

I just resaved all chars and that's it. Besides the annoying and hard to understand error message, I was caught from another gearset related bug/glitch yesterday. I was teleporting, figured it would be good to change char before porting but there was not enough time to complete the char change before the window turned black and the destination zone was loaded. Game was stuck somehow and after teleporting, I saw a sign in my char window stating that I have no gear set chosen (although my char was in full armour). Then I was not able to switch to another character anymore suddenly. I got another error message stating something about "data can't be matched with server" or something similiar. So I logged out and logged in again just to see that ALL my 16 gearsets have dissapeared. O_o. So I spent the first 2 hours after downloading the patch with setting up all my chars from scratch. Nice way to spend an evening......

I had the same thing happen to me. I had 2 rings with 5 materia on each and now they both have only 3. Pretty sure the same thing happened on a couple of other pieces of jewelry too.
