SE, Please fix this FC exploit

The leader, myself, and another 2nd in command have sent in player abuse/RMT tickets and have only gotten copy and paste responses back. Part of that response states that they can't do anything about it because "it is working as intended" and that if we want it changed to post on the Lodestone.

We are going to try the STF next to try and get our gil back.

The person who did this is still hopping from FC to FC to try and scam them. He begs to be given permissions which will allow him access to their FC chest.

Lodestone isn't a good place to report anything because it's not monitored.

What I'm thinking is, why would the leader you merged with invite that guy and promote him to 2nd rank? I'm thinking maybe that guy had either a 2nd account? And or a friend make an alt to steal the stuff. It's all too suspicious.

He wanted it to look like we got hacked or didn't do it himself. When you promote someone it doesn't show the "who" promoted on other people's screens, nor does it record that in the activity log. It only shows "Name was promoted to...". Yes, I am assuming he has an accomplice in doing this since a second character was used.

But it comes down to, the only person online with promotion rights was the guy who was 3rd rank. Plus, there was careful consideration in the letter choice of the "RMT" looking name by using I and lowercase L's along with v's and w's. I haven't seen RMT be so choosey in their letter combinations.

I can understand overlooking the "Ready Check Spam" because its not something they really expect from the JP community but to let someone promote above their own rank? Thats just plain stupid. Then to top it off they refuse to help when their own flawed system allows someone to rob a whole FC off their hard earned rewards? Honestly, makes me feel like quitting before this or some other stupid design on their part allows another player or even a gold seller to screw me over.

To help in this case would mean admitting that they made a mistake, and that's something very few big companies, especially ones like SE who have so much vested on this game"s success want to do. Another thing to consider is that a lot of the people who respond to complaint emails or calls are just people sitting at a desk with a script that shows answers for the majority of the complaints they hear or may hear, hence the copy paste answers you often get when you file a complaint through email. The only thing you can really do at this point is press the matter until one of them is forced to break that script and actually try to resolve the problem.

Seriously... I don't think SE will help you out on this one. They always have this stance of not getting involved in player dispute.

to put it simple. anybody with promoting privileges is effectively a rank 2 member at worst.

logic dictates that either this is wrong or letting rank 3 and below having promoting privileges makes no sense. one of the two things should be prevented for things to work properly. I sincerely don't care which but having both things makes no sense at all.

I have the same question as you. In no other MMO I've played were you allowed to promote above your rank.

I think the other GM somehow figured this out and decided to find a 'merge' guild with gil to steal and took it from there.

OP: I would look for members that joined prior to this and end up leaving soon ... They may have had someone on the inside to find out how much stuff you had.

This person is a FC hopper, since this incident I've seen them in at least 2 other FCs and have heard that they were asking for invite/promote privledges in those FCs aswell. I have extended a warning to all my fellow FC leaders about this person and their past deeds so they will have a hard time hitting any of the larger FCs as they did with OP's.
