Well thanks for the warning! I'll make sure my leader is aware later. Hope they get your stuff back for you.
~Quit moping, get hoping~

I'm really sad that some people actually said that it's the FC fault for trusting someone...
It's like "well it's ok you have been robbed, you should have been careful, lock your door house the next time! the thief has its right to enter since it was open!" zomg o.O
I'm aware It could have been prevented with changes, but don't you think there is a flaw? that someone actually can promote someone to a higher rank? I definitely think there is. Anyway, pointing fingers won't change a thing, talking about it and increasing awareness can prevent further theft though
I still think it SE should change that lol.
Yeah it's really sad that they get blamed. In that scenario in this case the door wouldn't even have been open, it's more like a random third party threw a second key at the thief. >.>I'm really sad that some people actually said that it's the FC fault for trusting someone...

Or like a builder built in a hidden door for thieves and selling it to a family who of course have no idea that there is a second way into their house, because most other builders don't do this anymore. If I wasn't warned about this some time ago (a ranty thread in a general MMO forum) when looking up Free Company guides, I would also have assumed that no one could promote above their rank, and when I found out, I assumed that since the ranter informed S-E, it would be hotfixed as soon as possible, because it makes no sense and is easily exploited since most believe it impossible to begin with.

I have 9 ranks, and could have added more. There are 5 possible ranks...why should someone with the middle rank be able to promote? It just doesn't make much sense to me to allow that; yay, you can promote from rank 5 to rank 4! Why?
All ranks can invite (even the 9th rank). Only the first two ranks can promote. Only the first 3 ranks can kick. And only the first two ranks can set permissions (they have identical permissions, lead and co-lead). Only the first two ranks can withdraw gil. And all but the lowest can deposit items or gil.
Officers (the 3rd rank) can play with actions (buy, use, discard) and modify company board. And that's about it. The 5th and 6th rank are longtime contributors who proved their value. The 4th rank is a "recruitment officer". The 7th rank is where people go by default after 2 days of activity. The 8th rank is AWAY for people planning to not be there a while, no privileges except invite. The 9th is the default for new people, no privileges except invite.

I was noticing SE routinely posts and stickies security notices to its news section, such as:Undoubtedly this in-game exploit deserves at least this much notice by SE. (And hopefully, with SE being the enabler and its own customers being the individuals with malicious intent, they would also choose to fix this problem rather than continue to post warnings about their own deficiencies.)
