Gear Sets why, Keep getting the ! Thing about melds?

For what ever reason it keeps saying one or more items were not melded with the specified materia ? what heck that mean? I can reassign it and normal then later on it goes back to saying same thing , even if got melds no red or just extra melds. ,but you need a meld on a gear.

Gear sets will now distinguish between gear affixed with materia.
It is the same like with the colors now, if one of your gear have another color than what is saved in the gear set file.
Just update your gear set file.

Done that a few times , but keeps going back with the stupid ! thing. I deleted it , reassign it , did it all . On ps3 versions so might be a bug.

Just wonder what the point of doing it was for.

The old system just stored what gear it was, didn't store the color or the materia in each piece. So old saved gear sets don't have any of that information and they probably just have default settings stored in them. When it tries to load an old gear set, while it can find the same type of gear, it can't exactly match gear that's melded or colored to those defaults, so it gives you that warning. When you save a new set, it should store all the exact information about your gear (materia, color, etc). After that, it should be able to make exact matches for all the gear in the set, and the warning should go away.
