    Idea for the AoE indicators.

With 2.16 they added a yellow bar that pulses through the indicator over and over. This is silly and I don't really know what it's supposed to accomplish.

What would be better, and make much more sense, is if the yellow bar gradually filled up the indicator until the ability goes off. This should be, obviously, in tune with the skill bar that fills up next to the enemy's name when they're using the attack.

It would obviously make sense that if you didn't get out of the AoE indicator by the time it filled up, you would be hit by the attack, and that seeing it empty early on while it's charging, you could better prepare and evade the attack.

Edit: Or, when the pulse hits the other side, that means the attack is about to go off, that would also be fine. Right now, it seems like a really weird change that isn't helping anythig.

Agreed, would like to see the pulse time equal to cast time, so that people (such as healers) who don't have the mob targeted can see how long they have to get out.

The color change and some movement in the AOE indicator makes it stand out a lot more and makes it a lot easier to react to. It's particularly nice for the absurdly wide AOEs like Mortal Ray or the Amdapor Boss's Tail Swipe where before you might not be able to notice the AOE was there as if you're not near the edge as the color change is very slight.

A separate pulse or something indicating cast time would be amazing, though.

All this would accomplish is people being even lazier about moving out of AOE. People who think they are pros will stand in aoe to get that extra spell off instead of moving as soon as it appears and just end up getting hit. System is fine as is.

How is that being lazy? It makes no sense. In fact, it's almost the opposite of lazy in that you can continue to perform actions and attacks and then move before you're about to be hit (which is what I was doing in the red AoE fields, and would continue to do)

And then that inevitable slight lag hits and you still get hit by the AOE. And you are a bard, what the hell are you doing stopping your actions just because you have to move?

I also have Paladin and Dragoon at 50. Not exactly limited to one job.

I 100% agree. I saw the preview image for this graphic & became very exciting under the impression it would work as you've proposed... I logged in & was gravely disappointed to discover this was not the case.

Please SE, sync the 'wave' with the cast-time... if you want to retain the "stand-out" nature of it, you could retain the minor pulsing wave & overlay a larger wave that indicates time-to-completion.

I'd much rather be able to change the color to what ever I want.

you still arent limited by a cast bar, get that attack in and move at the same time, its not rocket surgery.
