Nothing but some bait, really. The navigator's brand is needed also after you turn in the Sawfish, and it's just as hard to catch it seems. It doesn't require double mooching but I've been fishing for hours each day and haven't seen it bite.

EDIT: Apparently, looking at my journal you get 3 tomato pies (Decent gathering food), a choice of a stack of bait, and 1,220 gil. Also, before someone asks, no, it isn't a pre-req for a more important quest either.

Took a while but I finally got lucky yesterday. Caught it around 10:30AM sunny weather using rat tails (with the double mooch of course)
Some people said rat tails have better luck, so I tried them. Could just be a coincidence but using the minnow only got me silver sharks.

Regarding Navigator's brand - I was fishing it after I had gotten my forager's rod so I was at 332 gathering but i STILL had one get away. Eventually after 2 days of going at it I got it. It was definitely a lot less painful than the titanic saw.
