I would not take this advice. While Black Mage can certainly focus on crit and still be almost as effective as someone who focused on spell speed, a Scholar who focuses on Spell Speed will not be near as effective as someone who focused on crit because they get significant additional benefits from crit. Those 2.25x strength Adloquiums 30% of the time will outweigh being able to cast an extra heal once per minute at 10% crit. A White Mage would arguably get some benefit out of Spell Speed, since they're far more reactive healers, their heals are bigger to begin with so crits usually equal more over healing, and they don't have inherent bonuses based on crits.

well, i didnt say focus in speed spell, but its not useless at all, as a scholar i need a lot of crit and some spellspeed combined with selene buffs it works great, in fact, it works great on everyone haha

I wouldn't go out of my way to equip spell speed on Scholar, unless the piece you're equipping for crit or det happens to also have it. Obviously, everyone is going to have some spell speed because of that. What you're saying sounds like you are basing gear choices on increasing your spell speed. This may not be what you mean, but in a thread asking about whether to gear for spell speed vs. crit it is what it comes across as.

To answer the OP more directly: Spell Speed is not effective to gear for as a Scholar except incidentally because crit/det is much more effective for large shields. Black Mages gain a lot of benefit from Spell Speed, although a crit build is almost as effective if you like seeing big numbers a lot. Summoners are much better off with crit/det, since spell speed only really affects Ruin spam for them and it doesn't increase the rate at which DoTs tick. White Mages have more options like the Black Mage, and Spell Speed is a good option for them because their heals are large to begin with.
