Accessory cost dev comment

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this, or if people are interested in having the developer comments translated from the French forums (I know it's popular from the Japanese interviews/comments, etc.), but here it is anyway (roughly translated):

Concerning the equipment cost of accessories, it is possible it will be removed in the future.

The developers think they can simply remove the accessory cost system. However, there is the possibility for players to equip a large number of accessories which will diminish the overall impact of each accessory in particular. Also, this will cause inventory problems.

Translation is a little rough but that's the main point, anyway. Sorry if this has been mentioned before but it's the first I heard of it and I'm happy they are considering it!

if they removed it then it just be like FFXI where rings only give 2-4dex or str which mean low level would have 2dex and high level would have 4dex and maybe much much later 5-7 like now in ffxi which wont be much of a issue.I'm a person when playing ffxi i dislike having slot open if there a item that useful for my level i like getting it and use it so i do hope they fix this issue.

The pros of slot accessory removal outweigh the cons, IMO. This is a case where a dev-imposed limitation does not really enhance gameplay or strategy.

Either fix the accessory stats so that it makes sense to actually use higher rank accessories, or just get rid of the slot cost limitation altogether.

Hello everyone! As Bayohne has mentioned in the earlier post, we talked with the development team and are here to relay the latest details on this topic.

Currently the development team is reviewing the accessory point system, including the possibility of abolishing the system. However by doing away with the accessory point system and removing the limit, different issues will arise. For example, by allowing players to have more accessories equipped, the value and effect of each accessory will decrease. Also by having more accessories in possession, players can run into storage problems. To prevent these issues from happening, the development team is thinking things through carefully, so it will be a little more time before we have a concrete solution.

We are looking forward to any additional feedback you may have so please don't hesitate to give us your thoughts!

Edit: A better idea might be for them to just add quests that you can do to increase your slot cost limit. Sort of like a gobbie bag quest.

Completely agree with the pros outweighing the cons.

Also, if they remove the slot cost limit, have an option for

/display bling off

so that we don't look completely blinged out if we don't want to.

hmmm, i didnt know just allowing us to equip all of our acc slots would diminish stat results so greatly.

idk then, it looks and feels like a bad design to not allow players to put equipment in every available slot (realistically obviously, although "grips" for two handed weapons did take me by surprise in FFXI)

i think acc.s should be more interesting and have a larger impact on our performance (stats, bonuses etc.) than they do in FFXI and FFXIV, however they accomplish this.

Yah even if they lowered some of the attributes on the accessories, I would still love to be able to use all of the slots. Gives more functionality, more choices, and more varied attributes.

I'd rather they limit how many accessories you can equip than use slot cost. Say no more than 6 total. Then if they add earrings worth using people will use them.
