Who knows. I just call it spelunking.I honestly don't care what they call 4-8 player instanced dungeons with a 60 minute time limit. They can call them raids, assaults, forays, hootenanies, "4-8 player instanced dungeons with a 60 minute time limit", whatever. it makes no difference whatsoever. Why do people care so much?

My vote for hootenanies as the new term.I honestly don't care what they call 4-8 player instanced dungeons with a 60 minute time limit. They can call them raids, assaults, forays, hootenanies, "4-8 player instanced dungeons with a 60 minute time limit", whatever. it makes no difference whatsoever. Why do people care so much?
Sorties is clearly the superior term for those that are not philistines.
Michael Jordan is the greatest player of all time in basketball. There were great players before him. Players that were greats shooters, great defenders, great in the clutch, great court vision but when you talk about the best player ever Michael Jordan is the standard that has been set. The pioneers are not always the standard. Sometimes someone comes along and is just head and shoulders better than everyone else and they become the standard.I don't think WoW is the standard, though it is the most known. Almost everything it does was taken from games that came before. Those pioneers are the real standard. The younger gamers get, the less people recall there was a time before WoW.
Next thread: rename Duskwight Elezen to Night Elves.

I have 8 crafts at 50. All I did was watch T.V. and spam standard for easy mode synths. Enjoy leveling those crafts in 1.19 and beyond everyone!

I don't really care, it's a word used in many different ways inside and outside of MMOs. WoW's definition of 'raid' is not the one and only way to use it, so if he wants to use it to explain something then that's fine with me.
I'm just a bun boy, doing bun boy things.
OMG let's not even go there with "misuse". Especially games..
It's like shooters in the NA = FPS, in the east = arcade top-downs "shoot 'em ups". Considering the lineage of the two competing nicknames...east wins big time, but that's not what happens when people write these days.
Americans are almost always in the wrong heh.
I read another topic where someone said SE probably thinks a dungeon is something that's like a cave or something. I think I left a palm print on my face.
