    Multiple Platform Authentication Issue and Question.

    Dear Technical Support Forum Regulars,

    I'll keep this short as I feel there's a very simple solution.

    Purchased FFXIV:ARR CE PS3 Edition August 2013. Home PS3
    Purchased FFXIV:ARR Win/Steam Edition February 2014. Work PC
    Register Steam key in Mog Station on Service Account #1. Work PC

    Attempt to log-on at Work PC account has been suspended due to unusual access.

    Reset password twice on Work PC but still to no avail.

    I have a CE security token at home which I do not use.

    Is the only solution to verifying my work pc using a security token?

    I do not feel comfortable using the security app on my phone.

    Thank you in advance,

    The-most-eager-player-willing-to-throw-away-lunch-to-play.

    I think that a security token would be the most hassle-free way to go. Logging in from multiple very different sources is probably tripping up some security, and making it think that you've been hacked. It is really doing exactly what it is supposed to be doing. If you're not comfortable with the app (why?), then activate the token you have at home and stick it on your key-ring.

    If you have security token activated, you are meant to use it with all your log in regardless the platform/device you're using.

    I did not have the security token activated during this initial process.
    The inconvenience of the process vs. my trust in my password security was in the favour of ignoring the one-time password process.

    The main reason for the thread is;
    Is there a way to play on separate IP addresses/devices without using one-time passwords?

    I highly doubt it... one-time password isn't as bad as you think, plus there are way around for an account being hacked despite the best password regime you may have - seen it many times. I'm happy to have a slight inconvenience of using one-time password every time, than having any of my everyday accounts hacked.
