I am a tank.
There is already enough stuff on the floor making it difficult to see enemy attacks already.
I already suggest you not implement this ground/way marker feature.
Yet you have.
I need a way to turn it off.
Thank you.

They definitely need to be smaller, if anything.

I think they're fine as they are, personally. If anything, I wouldn't mind more of them so we can have more than three down at a time. They're really handy when explaining boss strats.
They're fine the way they are. If one is in the way, you can remove it from the waymark menu or move it somewhere closeby but not in the way.
the way markers are ugly and too bright. I'd like to actually see the game world, not a bunch of bright glowing UI and text in my face all the time..
The purpose of the markers is to be shinny and call the player's attention easily so that they know where it is. An unobstrusive "pretty" non-glowing marker would be next to useless, and then we'd have people complaining about them being hard to notice with all the flash-fest going on in our screens.
A toggle would defeat the purpose of the markers: people would have to be "Turn markers on PLS" when explaining fights that could benefits from using them. What Squee really needs to do is turn the damn flashy FX from every skill ever down.
Can we have:
- an option in settings to choose our own colours for each marker
- an option in settings to make markers
A: animated like now
B: non animated (no three swirling meteor explosions constantly distracting me on screen)
C: simple coloured circles on the ground, without any auras protruding from the ground
changing the colors per client would make miscommunication more rampant. the point of the markers is to make things easier
I agree with the non animation point, they can be a bit overwhelming, but I think we still need some sort of pillar or pole that indicates a location vertically
circles just on the ground might get lost in other effects, like the AoE markers from enemies. right now, with the orange AoE markers, I sometimes lose them when black mages do fire AoEs. They are practically the same color. I can see this happening in a similar fashion.
Disabling a tool that is put in for ease of communication on a per client basis is a bad idea, especially when they are being used correctly. I imagine if you are getting someone that is abusing them, they can be reprimanded by the support team....
I think marker shouldn't stay indefinitly on the ground, they should be up for 5-10s it's enough to explain strategy.
We wanted a way to explain strategy and positioning (mostly for boss fight) so a simple ping on the ground for a few second (like the current AoE circle from attack but with a fairly different color) with a little ping sound (chose in option) should have been enough.
Right now, it's too flashy and kind of overkill.

Just clear them after laying them down if they bother you that much. The fact that they stay around even after failure is incredibly useful when teaching new players a fight.
Have you all tried turning down other players' effects? I know it disables/reduces a lot of distracting AOE stuff so if you aren't aware such an option exists it might be helpful.
