    [dev1032] A Better Way to Cancel Spells Please

    I apologize if this has been answered before.

    I would like to know if there are any plans to remove the ability to cast spells while moving. In my opinion spells should be casted while standing still and then be cancelled if you attempt to move while casting. Cancelling spells by moving would decrease the amount of time it takes to cancel a spell, and make it much more intuitive.

    The current system in place for canceling spells is horrible, and I see no reason for it to stay in the game.

    While some spells I would like to see it so you have to stay still to cast something big, and have other players protect the mage to complete the spell some magics I think are OK to be casted while running... Check out all the new anime stuff (even old ones) looks cooler when mages/magic users running and blasting each other.

    But from your title, I do agree there should be easier way to cancel spells, actions... unless that's already being worked on for 1.18 and 1.19 changes. Couldn't cancel some actions when I pressed it by mistake and pushing again to cancel lol.

    I wish I could just press 'v' or some other customizable hotkey to cancel spells anytime I want.

    Having to activate the spell again in the middle of casting to cancel it is bad design. This also makes cancelling spells that are activated via macros really hard as well.

    Wait, you can cancel spells??

    I'd just assumed, after spamming ESC, my cancel button, and being locked into place while casting meant that I HAD to keep casting no matter what. You learn something new everyday.

    And since we are getting 3 action bars at the same time, AoE should be something like shift + spell in action bar.

    Although you'll still have to wait while in the middle of performing actions and casting spells, we're looking into allowing instant execution of actions and spells while in auto-attack mode.

    Because of the restrictions of the stamina gauge, I can't execute actions with various special effects when I need to.
    We are planning to remove the stamina gauge. Like before, TP and MP abilities will still be affected by recast times. There will also be cooldown times between actions.

    After mistakenly choosing an action, or deciding to use a different action, there's no way to cancel a previously selected action.
    This is somewhat related to the items brought up above in that once we change over to a gameplay style that allows for immediate execution of commands, this should no longer be an issue (since there won't even be an opportunity to cancel something to begin with).

    "There won't even be an opportunity to cancel something to begin with". Does that mean all spells will be instant cast? Hrm.
