Still no word on when this fix is coming? At least give me a time frame? As someone who plays daily I'm hoping this doesn't take too long.

i've kind of gotten used to it but it still sucks. i have to be very deliberate and fast with my action use as soon as i hit the trigger and then instantly let go. Doing it like this, i've been able to still switch hotbars and get an off gcd ability done and switch hotbar again to be ready for another action when gcd is just becoming ready again.
but yes please fix it soon. it actually seems harder to play my drg than pld like this.
Definitely gave us quite a bit of trouble in turn 4 last night. I adapted but my healers and other tank didn't so it's annoying nonetheless.
To limit tabbing through only 2 bars, you can go into Character Config - Hotbars - Cross (tab) and at the bottom of the list is 2 sets of hotbar checkboxes for "Set Selection"
Using this setup, R1 will only cycle those bars you have selected (in this picture in particular, this means in and out of combat I only cycle 2 bars: 1 and 2)
Joshsecret, I think you can actually solve all your problems. See the post above this for instructions on how to disable certain cross bars.
And if you only need 2 crossbars in combat, you can actually set it up so that you don't need to tab through anything. In Haledire's screenshot above, the top section (Extended Hold Controls) is how you can bring up a second complete cross bar without ever needing to tab.
Of course, if you don't want to learn a new system and just want the old R1 tabbing to work, you'll have to wait for the fix. I can totally understand that. I like the old way, and think they should hurry the hell up with the correction.

Hopefully the emergency maintenance going on now is to fix this!

Greetings,
Below is a follow-up from Hiroshi Minagawa last night in regards to the issues with the cross hotbar.
I'd like to report some additional information.
We've finished checking on whether or not there would be any issues with the method to fix this bug (rolling back the change).
- What was checked from yesterday until now
After the fix which caused this issue, a lot of other fixes were implemented. Due to this, in order to revert back to the previous state for the fix causing the problem, we had to check the program source code revision history to make sure the fixes made afterwards would not be affected. We've confirmed that it is safe to revert back.
- The next steps
We've implemented the reverted code on the development server and the QA team will be performing checks.
As there are other emergency fixes that are being looked into in addition to the one at hand, we'll need a little bit of time for QA to test and check them all.
Once we receive word from QA that there are no issues, we will start building the patch for release. (This will take a minimum of 5 hours.)
As soon as all the preparations are completed we will be releasing this emergency patch and we appreciate your patience.

its because of the new R1+leftstick ground target system you have to hold r1 to switch bars like a second longer.
no. a red name said somewhere that this was intended. but the effect weren't supposed to be so restricting. it was supposed to help cut back on accidental presses or something of the like. but they did something wrong. hopefully thy never attempt it again. ^_^

I didn't read through every single post here, so forgive me if someone else mentioned this, but this 'bug' affects more than just my cross hotbars. I have experienced the same game breaking lag that most of you have. I FLY through my hotbars. Since early access I even trained myself as a level 1 archer to be able to effortlessly switch between hotbars by putting Sprint (when I had no mount) on hotbar 2 and return/teleport on hotbar 3. This worked very well for me, because now at a moment's notice without even thinking I can switch between hotbars on the fly. Even a millisecond of lag I would have been able to detect, like most said this is terrible for me.
But as we see, a fix is being implemented.
What troubles me is I have seen nothing said about the targeting of mobs. I have been heavily affected in this way as well. I always use Right and Left on my D-pad to cycle through mobs. It's very easy because there aren't many things I need to do with my left thumb. I am suffering from large amounts of lag from this as well. The cycle action now lags about to the same degree of the hotbar lag, AND on top of that I have to now spam the X button to get my new target to accept. I used to be able to Hit Right on the D pad to get to the mob I wanted to target and hit X to begin targeting it instantaneously. We will say .5 seconds to give it a number. Now it takes about 3-5 seconds for those simple actions to be performed.
This is not acceptable for end game dungeons, even on a low rotation such as a BRD. I have 2 full hotbars of skills that I need to be able to use on the fly, and my 100% DPS Uptime is being affected by the targeting issue.
Is anyone else being affected by the targeting issue? Again, if I missed someone's comments or replies in this regard I apologize. Just fixing the hotbar will not be enough for me, and so far all I have read about is the hotbar lag.
