PS3 Controller Hotbar problems

Try this as either a temporary fix or you may just decide you like it better anyway.

Except I already use that function as you have already posted it. I need my Fast Swapping for Marking as a TANK (Xbar 1 and 2 used for all job skills and class abilities, and Xbar 4 is my 'Marking Bar'). I can normally leave it on Xbar 1 and R2+L2=Xbar2R2, L2+R2=Xbar2L2. They Speed swap from 1 to 4 to mark, and then back from 4 to 1 was very useful to me, and cannot be fixed with the Hotbar thing you recommend as I already use it practically.

just curious. i played around with this feature to try to work-around the current problem but cannot seem to get something right about it.

does the hotbar that pops up when you hit L2->R2 (or the reverse) need to be in you rotation or can it be hidden until we hit L2/R2 combination?

i currently have 2 hotbars that i use on every job but i was thinking with this feature i could have a 3rd without having to tab through 3 every time.

You can set any Xbar from 1-8 in the Config Window, but you divide it in to "Left" & "Right" for instance, I use Xbar 3 and set the Left Side to L2+R2 and the Right Side to R2+L2.

I've been using that since the feature came out in 2.1. Its extremely helpful for classes that need multiple bars quick (DRG and WAR are the two I use it on the most)

Was tanking Ifrit EX tonight as a WAR (got my bracelets too ), and had no issues at all. R2+L2 to get to my Path/Eye combos and some CDs, R1 or L1 to target something else.

But it's probably a good idea to have one here, too, since most people come here, and can quickly see that others are having the same problem.

Please post in the bug forums so that we can quickly fix this mess. Yes people frequent the general discussion but the developers DO check the bug forums from time to time. So please like or post there in addition to posting here. Thank you.


Edit: I accidentally sounded like a Moderator, which I'm not lol. I just want this issue to be resolved. As an end-game warrior tank on PS3 this seriously affects my performance as I have several combos/off-gcd abilities in different hotbars and am required to switch between them effortlessly and asap. It's bad enough I have to deal with graphical delay and lag so we don't need anymore on our plate. Please provide us with an explanation as to why this changed occurred whether it be a 'bug' or 'working as intended'.

I must be the only ps3 player not experiencing this I've even tried to create the delay as everyone has been describing it and I can't during all animations I'm able to switch quite quickly between my hot/cross bars I guess it would be I me other than that I really for myself haven't noticed a huge change and what not the problem that everyone in this thread is describing.

This change seems to be a serious problem. Good thing I've done EX primals for the week but in my Coil group running later today, it might be a problem since we have 2 controllers users.

Below are a couple of comments from Hiroshi Minagawa about the issue being experienced where there is a delay when trying to switch between hotbars with the gamepad.

We are currently investigating this as a bug.

No changed were made to the R1 button feature, but it’s possible that it was affected in some way from other change. Due to this we will be looking into the implementation history and searching for the change that is causing this.

I understand this is a really severe issue and I will make an announcement with further details as soon as possible.

We’ve determined the cause of this issue and I would like to give you a breakdown of the situation.

• The Change Causing this Issue
  
  

  Directly after executing an action set to the directional buttons on the cross hotbar, if you release the hold on the L2 and R2 buttons and are still pressing the directional buttons, it acts as an anchor. Please fix this.
  In order to address the above, we added a process that would disable button input for a set frame right after releasing the L2 and R2 buttons. The L1 and R1 buttons were also included in this, which is creating a delay when switching due to the disable input period.
  
  
• Method to Fix the Issue
  We’ll be reverting the above change back to the 2.15 functionality.
  This is the quickly method to address this issue.
  
  
• Hotfix Schedule
  I’ll be confirming with the programmers and the QA team for when the fix can take place.

I apologize for the inconvenience, and once we’ve decided on the Hotfix schedule I will be sure to make an announcement.
