i just looked. Imagine your wearing that outside, what did you expect? water drops on your body? on your skin? your hair is wet + moved to the side of the rains wind. it looks good to me. Fast implementation. Longer term, they will add more im sure.

How soon do people forget that they were developing ARR while at the same time making 1.0 playable? Naturally things ended up postponed so the majority of the game could be released on time. This isn't a normal mmo situation. They built this game from scratch in half the time it takes most mmos to finish development.
No more cast bars for Bard! Thank you, Yoshi-P! All hail our lord and savior!

I like the new wet effects on my alt ohohohohoho ~

Just a matter of time and priorities. I suspect that making a more impressive "wet effect" is very low on the list of priorities when there's more that can and will be done in fixes, quality of life updates, and game content.I program for a living I understand how it works and there is no reason why it would be affected by scripting... Only thing that may affect it is processing power and system limitations... I've seen numerous games that can handle it so I highly doubt that is the issue...
If anybody else here ever played Dragon's Dogma on the XBOX360 or PS3, and you remember what the "Drenched" status effect looked like, then you should also know that it's possible to make some really nice graphical representations of this visual effect with the same hardware that this game can also run on.

I like how it looks now but I agree it could be a bit more pronounced. I like how the hair gets matted and weighed down.
I disagree. I think the current "Wet effect" is pretty good. The wet effect is noticeable on characters as well as the environments.
And, I love the wet effect on my cloak whenever I walk pass on the water surface.

Exactly Cairn. The wet effect is great. Yes, you can't see it in some screenshots, but it is damn noticable in the actual game, and unlike many other games' wet effects, it is not obnoxious and unrealistically shiny.
While water droplets from our hair or clothes would also be great, that is a huge additional strain on an MMO's graphics engine, so I wouldn't expect it anytime soon.

The wet effect looks pretty great to me.

I like the wet effects. Really don't see a reason to do anything to it. I mean they really didn't have to add it at all.
