Why is so much info not announced on the official site first?

So many tiny bits of info about upcoming patches and content plans are released piecemeal across different gaming sites that are not mentioned here on the official site until MUCH later, if at all.

It's getting far to common to see someone mention content coming up soon, ask where they heard that from, and have them say "I forget...it was quoted from some translated interview on siteyouneverheardof.com that someone linked to on reddit"

Why can't you guys use the announcement space, or developer's blog space on the Lodestone for this sort of info?

There is tidbits on the Letter from the Producer and in the forum posts. A full listing as it were usually isnt done till the Patch comes. now in reference to why isn't there more inclusive thread and such I don't know.
