Aye, I remember this.Yeah, I agree but that has more to do with Valve spending more time on their Linux versions. I was merely making a point that there was a reason for Microsoft and Valve not getting along. As for SE and Microsoft publicly they appear to have a good relationship when showing off FFXIV 2.0 before it was launched all the shirts they were wearing said "Windows 8" and they were accompanied by Microsoft reps at some of the conventions they attended.
It's weird, but could be just about anything. To be honest, I am not a fan of Microsoft's "leadership" myself, I do like a couple of their products, including WP. Too bad they're not doing enough to support their own devices.
Not for SE, who has to spend time, money, and manpower to develop that. I imagine that the ROI for developing such a thing wouldn't make the minimum.I see declining sales shares for Blackberry and iOS and increasing sales shares for Android and Windows...
I'm a bit baffled as to why people would be actively against SE expanding access to account security features. This would be a win on all sides except account hackers...
You don't do everything for ROI in big companies.
Most of the big companies write applications for Windows Phone, not because it's very profitable, but because it's better from marketing point of view.
And to be honest as a developer I can surely say that time and manpower for writing such basic application is absymal at best.
I don't think it's about developing itself but about licensing fees / costs related to publish is on MS store comparing to target market.
You mean - that $19 (or $99 without the promo) Square-Enix has to pay yearly?
They do it anyway - published Final Fantasy I and III so the publishing cost is already paid.
Its not expensive to create a WP app. There are actually MSFT tools that will port your android or iOS code to a WP friendly format, plus WP uses HTML5 for apps as well, and just about any code jockey could make an HTML5 app for this in hours since SE would have the API already.
Is it possible to have the software and token at same time? Someone told me its not possible.. so i said i rather have the real thing sitting in my house.. where as my phone can get lost or damaged.
Goodbye, Final Fantasy...
You can only have one active per SE account regardless of type. If you try to register another it won't let you unless you deactivate the other.
Also if they would just provide a QR code you could use this app which works with Google and other services

FYI
There are 3 operating systems Microsoft has
1. Windows on Desktop (the one you use to play steam and ffxiv games).
2. Windows RT (also known as Windows on ARM). I is a different OS and has no relation or compatibility with any other OS.
3. Windows Phone is a mobile OS, and is essentially a rework of the older Windows Mobile OS in response to Android and IOS. It runs your standard mobile apps (eg twitter, facebook, instagram, etc). These are not desktop or tablet tools. The largest Windows phone device is 6" (Nokia Lumia 1520).
If they ever made it available I would use the Libre apps, but I would not use the token as I primarily use my phone for games and business (office/outlook) at work. SE does have a few games out for the phone. I also don't know of any phones that are Steam compatible.
So there has clearly been some misunderstandings. That is probably an issue with the smaller but growing market size, and that everything is called Windows.
