Soken uses WP8.As a WP8 owner, I obviously want an app too...
Just had someone hacking my e-mail account, and I really want a token software to make sure it doesn't happen to FFXIV too. It wouldn't take any time at all for them to make one....
Problem is that WP8 is rare, and people in Japan probably haven't even heard of it....
There needs needs to be notible demand for it if you want this to happen.
But why ?
I know for a fact that programming an app like this is very easy, especially since they already have an app for iOS and Android.... I could do it myself in no time at all. It won't cost them anything.
They obviously have a reason for not doing it. If it was really an easy one day job they can just get some intern to do for free, they'd have done it already for every possible phone OS there is instead of just the top 2. Hell, theyd do it for 3DS and Vita too.
They do have a physical token ya know. Bit more expensive than what an app would cost but still fairly cheap. Frankly, I like those more than having to navigate through my phone to find the app.

I have a physical token and a soft token on android. I don't know why people feel the need to discount having SE make a WP8 Token. It's a convenience request. I don't want to carry around this POS android that all I use it for is the token and that's it. the same with the physical token. why carry that around when I have a device that is always with me.
isnt keeping your account secure worth more than just a phone?I have a physical token and a soft token on android. I don't know why people feel the need to discount having SE make a WP8 Token. Battle.net authenticator is also available on windows phones and has been for years ive been using it.
Also +1 for wp8 authenticator please!
Because it is what it is. I dont oppose anything. If SE wants to make the app for every phone OS available thats up to them. However for whatever reason they decided it was only worth developing for Android and Apple yet made the physical key as an alternate option for those that dont. Not only is having the extra security free and optional, but they offer options on how to use it. Despite what these "programmers" in this thread say there are likely other resources and costs associated with supported other platforms as well. Not to mention how I suspect theyre likely wrong, if something was so easy to port its probably not a very secure or unhackable program.I have a physical token and a soft token on android. As for the token, it is a small device that can be attached to your keys (another thing youre likely to carry around everywhere) and weighs much less than a smartphone. You can always leave your token near your computer as well, its not like youre likely to play FFXIV everywhere you go.
Yeah but now you have to carry around this FOB on your keychain letting everyone know you are a giant nerd any time to take out your keys. Some of us like to remain in the closet...As for the token, it is a small device that can be attached to your keys (another thing youre likely to carry around everywhere) and weighs much less than a smartphone. haha, true.
However anyone that recognizes this
and makes fun of you for it for what it is, is also a giant nerd and a dirty hypocrite!
That thins it literally identical to the one my bank gave me, save for the colors.
Beside, why should you have to bring it with you at all times in the first place?
